The Racing League is back on the agenda from July 25 as part of a six-week competition spread across the UK racing circuit.

The action takes place every Thursday night, as seven regional teams battle it out. Each week, seven races with 14 runners (except Wolverhampton tonight, where there are 13 runners) are held, and two horses from each team compete for points. Here with their verdict on night two, we have the best Racing Post tipsters.

17:45 Mint Man

The return to prominent tactics saw Muscika return to form at York last week, and he’s a major player despite his wide draw. Hierarchy is likely to fare better tonight than in recent starts, while Shalaa Asker (second choice) also has plenty in his favour.

The Irish raider MINT MAN is an intriguing contender, though, having shaped well on AW at Dundalk and then ran a cracker when drawn on the opposite side to the winner at Naas last week. He runs off the same mark tonight and brings a different profile to the bulk of his rivals.

18:15 City House

Blue Day (second choice) has been gelded since finishing behind CITY HOUSE at Kempton seven weeks ago and he still has some potential. However, the selection remains capable of a bigger effort on AW, and with a good gallop looking likely, he can make a winning start for George Scott. Pen Portrait and Stanley Spencer look best of the rest.

18:45 Sennockian

Escape Act, Glam Squad and Irish challenger Nakasero all showed improvement when winning their latest starts and have to be respected despite rising in the weights. The hat-trick seeking Royal Velvet (second choice) is high on the list with the return to the AW not an issue, while Silver Trumpet is another with less to prove than many on this surface.

However, previous C&D winner SENNOCKIAN bounced right back to form when second at Newcastle last Saturday and must have a good chance of going one better from the same mark.

19:15 Tropez Power

Red Hat Eagle, Noodle Mission and Lough Leane all earn full marks for consistency and are respected, especially the last two who both have winning form over C&D. Longlai and Supaspecialawesome are others to consider, but the vote goes to TROPEZ POWER. He has been running well on turf lately, but is better on the AW and will have no problem with the return to this trip.

19:45 Mighty Nebula

The vote goes to MIGHTY NEBULA, who has steadily progressive form and appears to have an AW handicap in him. Break The Bank, who warrants respect back in this sphere, is second choice ahead of Andaleep who is ahead of the assessor. Desert Emperor and Hot Fuss are quite interesting.

20:15 Reaching High (NAP)

The 3yo maiden REACHING HIGH (NAP) is taken to open his account. He has strong form and should be suited by this new trip. Intellotto, who may still have more to offer, is feared most ahead of Duke Of Oxford and Oneforthegutter.

20:45 Intervention

A strong handicap. King’s Lynn, Aberama Gold, Daamberdiplomat and Bosh all come into the reckoning but this may rest between Willem Twee and INTERVENTION. The former has a BHA mark of 106 to contend with but he’s lightly raced for his age and has long threatened to be a high-class operator, especially on AW. That said, some quiet turf runs saw Intervention drop quickly to an appealing mark and he can prove that point now back on AW.
