13:50 – Into Battle

13:50 – Into Battle
If the thunderstorms stay away, I’m sweet on Into Battle for Ed Walker and Hollie Doyle. He’s a solid bet and he’s carrying a featherweight. He went up 1lb for his last run at Sandown, which was decent. His run in the London Gold Cup at Newbury in May is solid form too. It’s worth noting that it’s his first run since being gelded which can bring out improvement.
14:25 – The Strikin Viking
I’m keen on the favourite The Strikin Viking. He used to be trained by Kevin Ryan but he’s been bought by Wathnan Racing and moved to Hamad Al Jehani’s yard. He won on his debut at York and was second at the Curragh behind Henri Matisse in June. That form is solid.
15:00 – Meydaan
Jan Brueghel will be fancied by plenty but I can’t have him at the price. I’ll take a punt on Meydaan, who won at Goodwood earlier this year. He likes the ground and he’ll be ridden on the front end so he might be able to nick it.
15:35 – Sparkling Plenty
This is a tough race to get a handle on. After going through them all, I’ve landed on Sparkling Plenty. She could be very smart. She has a couple of good wins at Chantilly in her last two runs and the ground will be fine for her. If the ground comes up soft, she’ll handle it. I’ll chance her against Emily Upjohn and Opera Singer.
16:10 – El Burhan
George Boughey has El Burhan and he’s a very interesting contender. He could be underestimated off a mark of 90. His Yarmouth win was pretty smart and he followed that up with a win at Beverley last time out.
16:45 – Enchanting
Enchanting likes Goodwood as we saw when he won here in June. If the rain comes, it won’t be a problem for her. She’s also got form on better ground so I’ll side with Hollie Doyle’s ride.
17:20 – Dreamy
Aidan O’Brien is bringing over Dreamy and Ryan Moore takes the ride. You always have to take note when Aidan brings one over. He knows what he’s doing! It’s a speculative punt as it’s a tough race to get a handle on.
17:55 – Diligent Resdev (each-way)
Diligent Resdev is a very good each-way bet. The Michael & David Easterby team were very keen on him winning at Thirsk last time out but it didn’t go quite to plan. Hopefully he’ll relax a bit better and he can show improvement and put in a similar run to his York win in May. He’s a value pick.
