The opener at Goodwood on Friday is over 2m 4f so is a ‘flag’ start and that can be a nightmare for some horses. Kyle Of Lochalsh is a bit difficult sometime as she likes to drop in. I’d rather have a horse that races handier up with the pace and TEMPORIZE fits the bill. He won at Newbury last time out and his running style makes him a safer pick.
14.25 – Al Musmak
I really like AL MUSMAK. His win at Newmarket last time out was no fluke and he can win again. He’s highly thought of and he looked a nice prospect.
15.00 – Perotto (each-way)
PEROTTO is very solid and he’s a safe each-way shout. He’s a course winner and he’s consistent. You know what you’re going to get from him and while I’d love for him to have 5lbs less, I’ll still stick with him.
15.35 – Asfoora
I can’t get how easily ASFOORA won the King Charles Stakes at Royal Ascot out of my head. I fancy the Australian runner to win again for Henry Dwyer with Oisin Murphy on board. She beat Big Evs that day and she can do so again.
16:10 – My Prospero
I’m keen on MY PROSPERO, who won at Goodwood last year over this 1m 1f trip. He has a solid level of form and this is a great starting point for his campaign.
16:45 – Mission Command
MISSION COMMAND disappointed on his first run at Nottingham in June but he had a problem that day. He bounced back by finishing third at Doncaster before winning at Ripon last month. He showed his true colours there and a mark of 83 is lenient. His style of racing will suit this contest.
17:20 – Sun God
SUN GOD is lightly raced this season and Hughie Morrison is a brilliant trainer, who is often underestimated. He ran well at Newmarket last time and with that run under his belt, he’s a player at a decent price.
