14:10 Sempo

Pink In The Park has run at Galway before. She was third in a Novice Hurdle here last year, coming third behind The Big Doyen. She travelled into the race nicely, but I’m going against her in the first race. What Path also ran well here last year, it must be said, but I like the look of SEMPO.

He’s had a nice couple of comeback runs this year, running very well behind Sir Gerhard in Cork and behind Gorgeous Tom at The Punchestown Festival over 2m3f. He had the ability to come in fifth in the Irish National and was second to Scarlet And Dove at Navan in March.

He’s never won at Chase, and he’s 10 years old now, but he has some really strong form. Sempo will put it up to Pink In The Park here in the Beginners Chase.

14:45 Ashdale Bob

Horantzau Dairy ran here last year when he was fourth in the same Novice Hurdle that Pink In The Park was in. But I like ASHDALE BOB. He was a better hurdler than Horantzau Dairy and Cest Le Vie. He beat Thecompanysergeant in Kilbeggan in June.

Thecompanysergeant won in the second race on Tuesday at Galway, and I think Ashdale Bob will follow him with a win here.

15:20 Livio Milo & Genuine Article

A lot of horses do back up at Galway but it tends to be horses that have run well and won with a bit up their sleeve. Malbay Madness was way too keen in the Handicap Hurdle on Monday night and you’d have to think that will have left a mark. When you get to the bottom with a horse, and you pull him out quickly, it often doesn’t work.

Best of luck to Malbay Madness, but LIVIO MILO, for Dermot Weld, won over 7f off a mark of 82 here last year. Funnily enough, 12 months later, ends up here again, running off a mark of 82, so Livio Milo is definitely one of interest.

GENUINE ARTICLE won a cracker on his last start at Leopardstown behind Longbourn. Old Faithful was just behind him, who runs in Tuesday’s race at 18:00. Genuine Article was third in that race, and he’s dropped down in weight. He’s only first reserve here, but if he gets in, he’ll definitely be on the shortlist.

15:55 Letherfly (each-way)

One Look is the starting point here, and there is no doubt about that. She is a progressive filly, but she was no match for Wendla back in May at Leopardstown. One horse that really caught my eye at Naas recently was LETHERFLY. She was third in a listed race at Naas behind Nighteyes and Over The Blues, who’s also a really nice filly.

Letherfly came flying home in that one. She was on the near side of the track, and that was her first run as a three-year-old. She hadn’t run since the previous October, when she won a Maiden at the Curragh with a bit of dig in the ground, beating Four Blondes, who has won since.

Letherfly came shooting out of the back in that one. She doesn’t have a rating to win this but I think she’ll be a good each-way price, and the step from six to seven furlongs will suit her here.

16:30 Just For Love

Night Titan ran a really disappointing race here last August, coming in 11th behind winner Enfranchise. He’s only had one run since, winning at Maiden Hurdle at Tramore in June when he beat Elusive Prince. Paul Townend has gone for Night Titan here and he’s definitely the best workhorse of the lineup.

Danny Mullins rides Gemme Magnifique, who recently won at Downpatrick. But JUST FOR LOVE, who’s only had two runs in her life, Niall Glynn owns. She won a Bumper here last year when she beat Final Escape in September, and then she won a Maiden hurdle over 2m5f at Punchestown.

She made a howler of a mistake in the second lap, but she really picked up after that again. She’ll be overlooked in the market. She’s one of those fillies that nobody really knows where the ceiling is. She’s not flashy; you wouldn’t even know you have her in the place. She’s so unassuming, but she has a canny habit of winning races. She’ll be a nice price, and she could surprise a few people.

17:05 Risk Belle & Fascile Mode

Winter Fog really surprised me at Tipperary recently. I didn’t think he had the legs for two miles at such a fast track, but he absolutely bolted in. He’s up 5lbs here, and I think he’ll love the hill. I can see him holding that form against Daddy Long Legs, who blew out at Tipperary.

Daddy Long Legs, though, is a horse I can never catch correctly. He bolted in at Punchestown, but he’s up 15 lbs following that win, so he doesn’t look to have too much up his sleeve here.

RISK BELLE is one I like. She’s come down from a mark of 137 when she was third to Jetara at Leopardstown in December. She done well at both Fairhouse and again at Leopardstown since then. She’s a good each-way shout here.

But the one I’m going with is FASCILE MODE. Beacon Edge and No Looking Back beat him at Ballinrobe in what was an absolute sprint of a race in May, but he improved on that, beating Ash Tree Meadow at Punchestown when he had not right to. He loves dry ground, and I think off a mark of 133 for Tom Mullins and Jack Foley, I like the chances of Fascile Mode.

17:40 Son Of Hypnos

We mentioned Malbay Madness following up on his first win, but SON OF HYPNOS should do well. He bolted in on Monday night in the Handicap Hurdle, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he won again.

18:10 Vicar Street

I know Patrick Mullins rides on and off for JP McManus, but Derek O’Connor rides the majority of their Bumper horses for JP. He’s riding VICAR STREET, who goes really well at home. I’d be sticking my neck out for Vicar Street, he’s a really nice horse.
