Galway Hurdle

NURBURGRING is an old favourite. He’s a horse who caught my eye at Cheltenham in the Triumph Hurdle. He was then not allowed to run at Aintree, a decision made by the vets. He then ran a cracker at Punchestown.

He had a warm-up for this on the flat at Leopardstown, first time over a mile and a quarter, which is far too short for him, but he showed his well-being there, running very respectably.

He’s back over hurdles now where track will suit him. He’s maybe not the flashiest traveller in the world, but he made up a lot of ground in that Triumph Hurdle from a difficult position and went into my notebook as very much a Galway type.

He’s got plenty of experience under his belt, he’s tough and hardened. He’s weighted, and he’s a decent bet at the available price.
