14:12 Glamour Show

GLAMOUR SHOW is speedily bred and built on the promise of her debut run when runner-up at Newbury last week, taking the eye with how long she went on the bridle, having conceded the winner and third a head start. There should be even more improvement in her, and should be able to go one place better now. Karl Burke took this 12 months ago, and his River Seine rates the main danger ahead of Lady Roxby.

14:42 Young Fire

YOUNG FIRE was sent off a short price and improved on recent efforts to resume winning ways at Haydock last week, ending a losing run stretching back nearly a year and looking right back at the top of his game. A subsequent 5 lb rise in weight leaves him well treated on the pick of his efforts, and he seems sure to go close once again if in similar form. Risen Again appeals as a likely improver who is now stepping into handicap company and could emerge as the chief threat ahead of Cloudy Skye and Arranmore.

15:12 Embesto

A few of these arrive with a question mark against them, so this looks like an excellent opportunity for EMBESTO to build on his excellent third in the Summer Mile at Ascot. He settled better than is usually the case on that occasion, recording a career-best effort in the process, and he may take some stepping back in listed company if building on that effort. Regal Reality wasn’t at his best in Epsom’s Diomed last time but is always to be respected in this grade and next on the list, while both Flight Plan and Point Lynas are capable of having a say, too if bringing their A-games.

15:42 Highwaygrey

Tim Easterby has an excellent record in this race, winning it six times since 2013, and his 2020 winner, HIGHWAYGREY, may be able to improve that record further. He is a four-time winner over this course and distance and ran as well as could be expected at Ayr last time, having made a hash of the start. He is now 2 lb below his last winning mark, and a return to this venue will suit him well. Rosenzoo arrives in form and is the obvious danger from his slightly lower turf mark.

16:12 Retracement

William Haggas has won this maiden in two of the last three years, and RETRACEMENT will be a short price to give him further success. He’s bred to be useful and showed plenty to work on when third over a mile at Yarmouth in April, showing plenty of inexperience but staying on well behind two smart sorts who have boosted the form since. There should be plenty of improvement in him now, and he has seemingly been well-placed here. Fellow once-raced Newmarket raider Wind River can follow him home ahead of fairly useful hurdler Hartur d’Oudairies.

16:42 Gis A Sub

GIS A SUB belatedly took advantage of a falling mark when resuming winning ways at Ripon last week, belying market weakness and having more in hand than the official margin suggests. He remains with plenty of scope from just 3 lb higher and, with no problem dropping back to five furlongs, he’s taken to follow-up. It’s Showtime and Street Life rate the principal dangers.

17:12 Asmund

ASMUND capitalised on a drop in grade to end a long losing run over this trip at Leicester earlier this month, and he was well on top at the finish. He’s back in handicap company now but has won from higher marks in the past, and he’s entitled to launch another bold bid from the plum draw in stall 1. Parson’s Meadow and Flavius Titus are feared most.
