16:50 Gazelle Dor

Preference is for GAZELLE DOR who has an edge in experience over most of these and the drop back to 5f could work for her. Sharkii is her most likely danger but Buck Barrow didn’t shape too badly at all at the Curragh last week in what’s always a strong maiden, albeit over 7f.

17:25 Origami

A tricky puzzle to contend with. Aidan O’Brien’s Celtic Chieftain holds a Group 1 entry but has been disappointing of late including when flopping at Royal Ascot, but Joseph O’Brien’s ORIGAMI was well on top at the line when scoring at Down Royal and has plenty of scope for further improvement. Lethimfly impressed at Bellewstown, while Shamrock Breeze is worth monitoring if turned out quickly too after her excellent run at Naas.

18:00 Grand City Hall

This looks tough as most of the field have chances. Kendall Roy continues to surprise and commands respect despite returning to a career-high mark, while last year’s winner Gabriella’s Spirit looks in good enough form to put up a bold defence. However, GRAND CITY HALL won his maiden at this track, and he might well have given Power Mode something to think about with a clearer passage at Naas.

18:35 Firebird

A maiden that should revolve around three runners. There was plenty to like about FIREBIRD‘s debut when second at Ayr last year and Paddy Twomey has a formidable record at the track, so she could take the beating if she’s ready to roll after a break. White Clover is an obvious threat after running well for a long way over 7f last time, while Emerald Banner brings strong form to the table but could be vulnerable to an improver.

19:10 American In Paris

An ultra-competitive handicap and many with chances, but AMERICAN IN PARIS has won three times over this trip, including over C&D. If she gets away on terms, she can make amends for recent efforts. Goldmoyne attracted plenty of market support in two starts this year and rates as a big danger, while down at the foot of the weights, Superior Council caught the eye in midfield latest and could be well ahead of his mark. Of the others, Samrogue is a former winner of the race but has a tough mark to contend with this year.

19:40 Karsavina

This is likely to concern the top two. KARSAVINA isn’t the easiest horse to weigh up right now but she has been contesting warm races and this would be her most realistic opportunity for a good while. That said, Cill Mocheallog is a dangerous opponent after beating a talented filly in his maiden.

20:15 Sheen Falls Time (NAP)

Top weight SHEEN FALLS TIME (NAP) was coming along nicely until enduring a troubled run at Haydock, and this longer trip is worth exploring with her related to a winning jumper. Solar Drive rates a serious rival on the back of a good sequence of runs, and returning to further will suit him. Our Lil also has to go well after an encouraging first run for her new yard.
