17:10 – Take A Pull

This looks a good opportunity for TAKE A PULL to maintain her unbeaten record having done it nicely when making a winning debut at Chelmsford this month. Fellow AW winner Placeholder returns from ten months off and Zariela is becoming exposed, but they still look the likeliest to finish closest to the selection on form. Newcomer Anamika is only of real interest because of Oisin Murphy’s good strike-rate for the stable this year.

17:40 – Next Second

This most obvious answer is NEXT SECOND, who kept on strongly to collar Restricted in a recent C&D handicap. Golden Gal (second choice) often loses ground at the start but she returned to form with a good effort on turf last month and can be dangerous in this grade if all goes well.

18:10 – The Bay Warrior

An open contest. Oriental Art makes the shortlist despite his moderate strike-rate now back off his sole winning mark, while Chagall finished just behind him last time and shouldn’t be far away again. C&D winners Assembled and Dillydingdillydong are others worth a second look, but the vote goes to THE BAY WARRIOR who suggested he was back to form when chasing home a subsequent winner at Kempton 13 days ago.

18:40 – Virtual Hug

Liberated Lad and Pfingstberg come into this in fine fettle and both should make their presence felt, while the return to Tapeta may result in a better performance from C&D winner Master Grey. However, the choice is VIRTUAL HUG whose three AW wins have all come over 1m4f/1m6f here. He is just 2lb higher than when last successful.

19:10 – Court Drive

The filly COURT DRIVE goes well here and was denied a clear run when beaten just a neck here last Monday. She earns the vote ahead of So Obsessed, who has won three of her last four starts. Aidan Andabettin could be suited by this first crack at 5f.

19:40 – My Kind Of Girl

Tony Carroll’s filly MY KIND OF GIRL seems most effective on turf at Brighton but she has also shown some form over C&D and, after going close in this grade at Brighton three weeks ago, appeals most in this uncompetitive race. Rebel Redemption has harmed his chance by hanging under pressure on recent outings and remains on a long losing streak but he’s in fairly good form and probably won’t be far away. Damia lacks a recent run but might also threaten.

20:10 – Coast (NAP)

This could be a good opportunity for COAST (nap), who has been placed in two handicaps since last month’s Lingfield win and will find this much easier than the Class 5 race she contested last week. Reve De Magritte was second over C&D when dropped back in trip a fortnight ago and is second choice, ahead of Alibi Warning.

20:40 – Newfangled

Solo Solataire showed more on her third start for Mick Appleby when third at Kempton 13 days ago and should figure if taking another step forward, while market support for Trip To Paris’ half-brother Trip To Venice on handicap/AW debut would be interesting. The vote goes to NEWFANGLED who has been performing consistently on turf since a promising return off 5lb higher at Kempton in April, the form of which has worked out well.
