13:47 – Blueandtangerine

Mick & David Easterby’s filly BLUEANDTANGERINE holds much the best form on show so is taken to go one better than her recent second at Chester behind The Flying Seagull and get off the mark stepping up to seven furlongs which looks sure to suit. Brastias failed to land the odds at Newcastle last time, but is feared on the back of his debut promise at Haydock when not getting the best of runs, with Bobby Jones, fourth in a nursery at Pontefract last time, also in the mix.

14:17 – Ezdaan

EZDAAN shaped well on his debut for John Butler when fourth to Wattani at Ayr and with improvement on the cards after showing his inexperience he looks the way to go in the second division of this two-year-old maiden. What’s She At could emerge as the main danger if, as expected, builds on her Newcastle second, with Smithy, who finished fourth in the same race, and Ed Dunlop’s newcomer Born Too Run appeals as the pick of the rest for minor honours.

14:52 – Borderline Boss

Plenty are in with chances in this seven-furlong handicap but Kevin Ryan’s BORDERLINE BOSS showed improved form in first-time cheekpieces when a half-length second to Kurimu on his handicap debut at Doncaster last time and, with this step back up in trip sure to suit, he can go a place better at the expense of Sir Garfield, who opened his account at Catterick recently. Last month’s C&D winner Kode Secret and Forever Eighteen can fight it out third spot.

15:22 – Longhaired General

This maiden should represent a good opportunity for Craig Lidster’s LONGHAIRED GENERAL to get off the mark, having shown fairly useful form when runner-up at Thirsk on his handicap debut last time. Flight Radar showed ability when fourth on his debut at Haydock, faring the best of those held up, and rates as the clear danger for Karl Burke’s yard, with Tim Easterby’s Bletchley Pride making most appeal among those having their first run.

15:52 – Cerulean Bay

CERULEAN BAY is also engaged at Haydock on Saturday evening, but if David O’Meara points him here, he gets the nod back down in class having run a career-best second behind Zain Blue at Ascot last week. Swift Salian took a big step back in the right direction with a return to positive tactics when third to Barley at Carlisle last time and is next best ahead of Classy Boy who seeks a third win of the season after successes at Ayr and Carlisle.

16:27 – One Of Our Own

Rebecca Menzies’ ONE OF OUR OWN responded well to a positive ride when going down to Eternal Sunshine at Ayr a fortnight ago and a 1lb rise in the weights leaves her on her last successful mark. She’s marginally preferred in this six-furlong contest ahead of Garifullina who’s set for another bold bid after a ready win at Thirsk last time and Dandy Spirit who finished clear of the rest when a close third at Newcastle on his latest start.

17:02 – Mist Rollin In

Perhaps the three-year-olds will come to the fore in this nine-furlong handicap, with Declan Carroll’s gelding MIST ROLLIN IN taken to confirm last month’s Wetherby superiority over Jez Bomb who was fourth behind him that day. Gregorianna leaves the impression she could have more improvement to make in handicaps and makes the shortlist. Best of the older brigade might be Whatwouldyouknow, a former winner of this race, who arrives on the back of a good run at Leicester a fortnight ago.

17:37 – Gibside

GIBSIDE acquitted himself well in higher grades in recent weeks for Tim Easterby and can resume winning ways in this apprentice contest where he’s back in a Class 5 for the first time since his Catterick success last month. The drop back in trip could prove ideal for Bulldog Spirit who was a respectable sixth over two miles at York last time and he’s second choice ahead of Phil Kirby’s Gastronomy whose yard has a good recent record in this race.
