13:50 Newbury – Alyanaabi

Jim Crowley has picked Alyanaabi as he’s race fit over the returning Al Aasy who hasn’t run since Champions’ Day last October at Ascot where he was a bit disappointing. I can see why Jim Crowley has picked that way and, with fitness on his side, I’d be slow to oppose Alyanaabi who kept at it in the St James’s Palace.

14:25 Newbury – Dancing In Paris

There’s plenty of Royal Ascot form on show and Dancing In Paris was a winner last weekend at the track. He won over 1m 4f at York in May and then stepped up again to 1m 6f at Ascot last time, beating Tactician. He steps up another two furlongs to 2m now and that could suit again. He’s a decent price too.

14:40 Market Rasen – Manuelito

David Pipe’s Manuelito looks handicapped to go close. He’s off a bit of a winning spree, runs off 121, and there’s early money for him. He’s progressive and that run on the Flat last time – when second at Carlisle – looks like connections where protecting his jumps mark. That can pay off now.

15:00 Newbury – Twilight Calls

The Group 3 Hackwood Stakes is for those who are not quite July Cup class. I fancy Twilight Calls who will need to discover his old form to be honest to get involved. He’s been finding 5f too sharp and the step up to 6f could help him hugely.

15:15 Market Rasen – Boombawn

This is good and competitive but Boombawn looks to have been laid out for this by Dan Skelton, even if he lacks a bit of chase experience. He was a progressive-enough novice hurdler and started his beginners chase year with promise but then got injured. He’s dropped back in trip recently but this  2m 5f should suit and he can go close off 135.

15:35 Newbury – Miss Collada (each way)

Richard Hannon has a good record in this contest and Tom Marquand rides Miss Collada who is a nice each-way price. She got a great split at Salisbury, beating Mister McGregor. She’ll run another decent race I reckon.
