15:50 Haydock – Quantum Leap (The i)

There could still be more to come from Story Horse, who backed up last month’s emphatic Lingfield win with a good second over today’s trip three weeks ago. But QUANTUM LEAP made a very encouraging seasonal debut when running on well for second over 1m4f this month and remains on the same mark as when winning this race in good style 12 months ago. Parramount and Sea Legend also appeal.

16:10 Newbury – Principality (Racing Post)

Another chance is given to PRINCIPALITY who got upset in the stalls before disappointing in the Railway Stakes, and the form of his win at Goodwood last month reads extremely well. Yah Mo Be There is much better than he showed in the Coventry and Jamie Spencer could be the right jockey to get the best out of him. The filly Two Shoes is 1-1 and is another who could have a part to play.

19:10 Hamilton – Kalpana (The Scotsman)

Last month’s Ribblesdale third KALPANA probably still has more improvement to come and can collect this prize before moving back up in grade. Sea The Thunder has the worst chance on figures but he won a competitive handicap in pretty good style last month and is well worth his place in this line-up. Rouge Sellier created a very good visual impression in a recent Kempton novice and it will be very interesting to see how well she handles this rise in grade.

20:50 Hamilton – Penelope’s Sister (The Star)

Russian Ballerina may yet come good, while Crystal Guard has returned to turf in good order and Elforleather (second choice) will find this easier than last time. PENELOPE’S SISTER is on the up now, however, and she can resume winning ways and provide Jim Goldie with the winner of this race for the third year in succession.
