14:30 – Coto de Caza

COTO DE CAZA fetched €270,000 at the breeze-up sales and showed plenty to work with when a close-up third in a five-furlong novice at Lingfield on debut. She impressed with how she moved through that contest and loomed up a couple of furlongs out, but she was edged out by a neck and a nose by a couple of rivals who had the benefit of experience. She is entitled to take a step forward on that effort and can strike at the second attempt.

15:00 – Greek Gift

GREEK GIFT stepped up on her maiden efforts when getting off the mark on her nursery debut at Carlisle earlier this month, benefiting from the step up in trip to seven furlongs from six. The selection was ridden along three furlongs out but made headway approaching the final furlong and stayed on to lead near the finish and win by a neck. The extra half-furlong here will suit and a 4 lb rise in the weights is negated by the booking of 5 lb claimer Brandon Wilkie.

15:30 – Regency Boy

REGENCY BOY failed to make an impact last season but he wasn’t beaten far in fourth on his return at Leicester in May and stepped up on that when narrowly denied over this course and distance last month. Was beaten only a neck by the in-form favourite, and he remains competitively treated after going back up 2 lb in the weights. A visor replaces the blinkers in a bid to eke out further improvement.

16:00 – Stallone

STALLONE has been below his best the last twice but he’s had excuses and has been eased in the weights. He is now 4 lb lower than when a good third at Nottingham three starts ago and is 2 lb below his last winning mark, so it’s worth taking a chance that he will bounce back to form. Variety Island comes here on the back of some solid efforts, including a close-up second at Pontefract a couple of weeks ago, and is second choice.

16:30 – Coltor

COLTOR shaped as if needing the run when down the field in a staying handicap hurdle at Worcester on his first start for David Pipe last month, but he’s entitled to strip fitter for that outing and it would be little surprise to see him take a step forward on his return to the Flat. He competes here off a lenient mark based on the pick of his form for his previous yards, and one of his better efforts last season came over this course and distance.

17:00 – Park Street

Park Street looked as good as ever when runner-up over this course and distance on his reappearance last month, leaving the impression he may have threatened the well-backed winner with better luck in running, and he also shaped well back here when not beaten far in fourth last time. PARK STREET again wasn’t seen to best effect in a race where those held up in rear struggled to make an impact, but he has shown enough to suggest that he’s in good form and on a competitive mark. He’s a dual course winner and looks capable of adding to his tally.
