13:45 Ascot – Vintage Clarets
VINTAGE CLARETS only run at this venue on a couple of occasions, and both of them have been in very strong form. He looks to be on a fairly reasonable mark and he’s not ground-dependent at all so it won’t matter what happens with the weather.
14:00 York – Brunch
BRUNCH has now slipped back down to a very attractive Mark of just 92. He runs this track particularly well over the mile and even a little bit further. There looks to be a strong pace in this lineup which will suit his hold-up tactics.
14:12 Newmarket – Heritage House
HERITAGE HOUSE ran well in listed company at Carlisle just 17 days ago, on slightly better terms with the horse who finished second on that occasion, she looks to have found an ideal opportunity to gain overdue success this season.
14:20 Ascot – Embesto
EMBESTO has been strongly supported in both of his efforts so far this current campaign and admittedly has been slightly disappointing. However, he was carrying far too much condition on his return effort and now after a couple of starts, he should be hitting peak fitness.
14:35 York – Rogue Lightning
ROGUE LIGHTNING was caught out on a wing for his reappearance at Haydock and then badly gave it away at the starting stores at the Royal meeting this is a significant drop in grade and he reunited with a jockey who knows him well we can expect an improved display.
14:50 Newmarket- Qirat
QIRAT never got an opportunity to show what he could do in the Britannia at the Royal meeting as he was drawn away from where the race developed he still managed to hit the line strongly and surely looks underestimated from where he sits in the handicap at present.
15:10 York – Enfjaar
ENFJAAR only carries the 5lb extra for what was a demolition job at Chelmsford just 23 days ago he fits the bill perfectly for this type of handicap as he is unexposed lightly raced and on the right path he’s also been handed an inside starting position so will get the best Run round towards the fence.
15:25 Newmarket – The Parthenon
THE PARTHENON didn’t look like the finished article at all when winning last time and was only getting going right on top of the line. The fact that this outfit decided to start him off in group 3 company would suggest he is full of natural talent and let’s not forget they won this last season with City Of Troy.
15:45 York – Deauville Legend
DEAUVILLE LEGEND has always had a massive amount of natural ability but seemed to go off the rails after a fairly busy campaign last season he looked back to something like his best last time when putting up an improved display and hopefully, the team have got him back on track especially now he gets back on a perfect galloping surface over this trip.
16:00 Newmarket – Yorkshire (each-way)
YORKSHIRE looks to be dropping back down to what looks like his ideal distance and at least in a big runner field like this he’s going to get the ideal pay scenario that suits his fast and late style, he is having a tremendous season and this inmate looks nowhere near his ceiling rating at present.
16:35 Newmarket – Vandeek
VANDEEK ran badly on his return but surely is better than that as it was probably a combination of the ground and also the team being very much under a cloud, much better racing conditions will see him in a better light and it is a fascinating matchup for the younger sprinters.
