A 3yo handicap over 7f. ARISAIG looks to have an eachway chance for Charlie Johnston and Neill Callan. The daughter of Harry Angel has raced plenty over a 1m this season including when eighth in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot when give a ‘Jamie Spencer’ ride from off the pace. However, she scored over this trip at Lingfield and there is no reason why she won’t run a decent race here.

Jason Weaver

HERITAGE HOUSE ran well in listed company at Carlisle just 17 days ago, on slightly better terms with the horse who finished second on that occasion, she looks to have found an ideal opportunity to gain overdue success this season.

Rory Delargy

It’s worth noting that the wind is going to be behind them at Newmarket on Saturday and I’m taking a chance on DIVINE BREATH. I’m not 100 per cent sure she’ll be able to handle the track hence her price. She won a Chelmsford handicap last time out and she’s now off a mark of 85 after running off 70 that day. She finished sixth at Newmarket in May but she was badly positioned so I’ll give her another chance.

Mick Fitzgerald

KEY TO COTAI is a model of consistency and Ed Walker’s horses are in very good form. He’ll do me!

Ryan McCue

I’m interested in YEFIMENKO, who is being sent over by Ger Lyons. She looked quick on her first two starts at the Curragh and Bellewstown. She won easily last time out and I’m hoping the track and ground will suit her. She’s worth chancing at a decent price.

Matt Chapman

A handicap for 3yos over 1m. I’d guess FIRST CONQUEST has more to give for Charlie Appleby and William Buick with a first time hood in place. The Wood Ditton winner flopped next time at York but was back to some form when last seen and after three runs should have more improvement. Stable does well in this race. An eachway chance.

Jason Weaver

QIRAT never got an opportunity to show what he could do in the Britannia at the Royal meeting as he was drawn away from where the race developed he still managed to hit the line strongly and surely looks underestimated from where he sits in the handicap at present.

Rory Delargy

I’m giving VOLTERRA another chance after finishing 11th in the Britannia at Ascot last month. He’s won at Newmarket before and that form has held up. If you judge him on that run, he’s still well handicapped. He’s got excuses for the Ascot run so I’ll keep him on side.

Mick Fitzgerald

I like Karl Burke’s ARABIC LEGEND, who ran a good race last time out at the Curragh. They’ve tried this horse over longer trips but the doctor has ordered a mile – and he’s got it!

Ryan McCue

I’m with TREASURE TIME, who showed a great attitude last time when winning at Newmarket. He’s only gone up 4lbs for that win, which seems lenient from the handicapper. William Haggas’ horses are flying at the moment. He’s lightly raced and there’s plenty more to come from him.

Matt Chapman

Up in class here for the Group 2 Superlative Stakes for youngsters over 7f. Like father like son? Dubawi landed this prize in 2004 and now his son ANCIENT TRUTH tries to do so in 2024. Has landed a couple of Newmarket novice events in style and no reason not to think he might be very good.

Jason Weaver

THE PARTHENON didn’t look like the finished article at all when winning last time and was only getting going right on top of the line. The fact that this outfit decided to start him off in group 3 company would suggest he is full of natural talent and let’s not forget they won this last season with City Of Troy.

Rory Delargy

WIMBLEDON HAWKEYE is worth chancing at a big price. He won on his debut at Kempton in May and he impressed that day. He was a little green and he won with plenty to spare. The form looks to have held up and although his rivals have more experience, I’m siding with James Owen’s runner.

Mick Fitzgerald

Charlie Appleby named the Superlative Stakes as the next race for ANCIENT TRUTH after he won the Novice Stakes at Newmarket last month. I loved the way he went through the race that day and he can complete his hat-trick.

Ryan McCue

Ancient Truth is short in the betting but both of his wins came on good to firm ground. It’ll be a little softer on Saturday at Newmarket so I’m with PENTLE BAY. He got up late and won at Leicester on his debut before finishing second behind Bedtime Story in the Chesham at Royal Ascot. He’s a solid each-way pick.

Matt Chapman

Always a cracking handicap in the Bunbury Cup over 7f. It’s boring but CARRYTHEONE will be very hard to kick out the frame after two recent fine runs for Michael Bell. A win here two runs ago was a fine effort and his third at Royal Ascot in the Buckingham Palace was even better as he didn’t get a clear run. Ryan Moore is on tp this 7f specialist.

Jason Weaver

YORKSHIRE looks to be dropping back down to what looks like his ideal distance and at least in a big runner field like this he’s going to get the ideal pay scenario that suits his fast and late style, he is having a tremendous season and this inmate looks nowhere near his ceiling rating at present.

Rory Delargy

I put up CARRYTHEONE as an antepost pick a few weeks ago for this but he’s going to go off very short with Ryan Moore booked to take the ride. He won at Newmarket  in May and he followed that up in a third place at Royal Ascot. He’s running off the same mark of 101 so he’s a blindingly obvious pick, even though he’ll need a little luck with the amount of runners.

LETHAL LEVI could be worth keeping an eye on as an each-way pick. He was fourth in the Wokingham at Royal Ascot and he’s been revived by putting blinkers on recently.

Mick Fitzgerald

I’m taking a chance on PERCYS LAD as an each-way shout. It didn’t quite work out for him at Ascot as he was drawn the wrong side. He did well all things considered. He can redeem himself back at Newmarket.

Ryan McCue

Carrytheone is the favourite but he’s short for a race like this with 20 runners. I’m with YORKSHIRE at a big each-way price. He’s better than his mark of 88 and he’s got more upside than a lot of his rivals in here. Ed Bethell is a decent trainer and I like to keep his runners on side.

Matt Chapman

The feature of the day in the Group 1 July Cup over 6f. I can’t think of any reason when INISHERIN won’t blow these away if he runs to form. The 2000 Guineas sixth was excellent in the Sandy Lane at Haydock and even better in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. The older 5f/6f sprinters are from a vintage bunch and this looks up for the taking for a young up-and-coming speedster and Kevin Ryan’s inmate is just that. Tom Eaves takes the ride and he should get a lovely lead into the finish with plenty of pace up front.

Jason Weaver

VANDEEK ran badly on his return but surely is better than that as it was probably a combination of the ground and also the team being very much under a cloud, much better racing conditions will see him in a better light and it is a fascinating matchup for the younger sprinters.

Rory Delargy

Inisherin is the one to beat but I haven’t warmed to him.  He’s effective on different ground and track types but I can’t have him at a short price. Instead, I’ll back MILL STREAM, who doesn’t have much to find. He was third behind Khaadem in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot. He’s very reliable and you’ll always get your money’s worth.

Mick Fitzgerald

It’s hard to get away from INISHERIN. I was really impressed with him at Ascot and he took the step up in grade with a lot of ease. I’d be tempted by Vandeek if the ground was dry but I’ll side with Inisherin.

Ryan McCue

INISHERIN is the most likely winner. He’s in control of his races and his wins at Haydock and Royal Ascot were solid. He has a lot going for him and I’m not too afraid of the older runners in here.
