The interesting horse is POSTILEO. He hasn’t been great in either of his hurdle starts but last year’s Group-race form in Britain stands out a mile in this company and he ran well behind none other than Kyprios before failing to give his running at Royal Ascot. Dollar Value is feared most together with Kendancer
17:35 – Major Barry
There’s no outstanding candidate in this modest maiden. MAJOR BARRY will need to run a lot better than he did on his hurdling debut but that was too bad to be true and there was promise in his bumpers. Drumgill is becoming hard to predict but has good claims on his peak form. Storms End, Tell Me This and Midweek Voices have chances.
18:05 – Jeaniemacaroney
Not many of these warrant a second look. Bumper winner Caman Eileen brings obvious appeal and both Pahlavi and Irina’s Path have shown they’re up to winning maidens. But JEANIEMACARONEY is a bit unfortunate to remain a maiden under both codes and this could be her day.
18:38 – Rockstown Girl (NAP)
Penny West is a fascinating runner for the champion trainer and has to be respected getting all the allowances despite lacking experience. Most of the rest of these have questions to answer after underwhelming runs last time but course bumper winner ROCKSTOWN GIRL (nap) put up a career-best and can score. If You Let Me might be more at home on this track than he was at Hexham last time.
19:10 – Magic Olinger
A competitive handicap with a good few of these arriving in form. MAGIC OLINGER is becoming expensive to follow but there were excuses when a beaten favourite last time and there’s a suspicion she has more to offer. The tongue-tie may help matters. The Truant, Aussie Warrior and Someone’s Wish head a lengthy shortlist.
19:45 – Cosmic Blizzard
Though poor over fences last time, COSMIC BLIZZARD is rated 16lb lower over hurdles and can take advantage to get off the mark. Evans Secret was unlucky in running at Ballinrobe last time and should go close. Mini Getaway also ran well at Ballinrobe last time and is considered. Cloughroe and Everystep Oftheway need a bit more.
20:18 – Amanha
It could pay to stick with the experience of AMANHA, who has bumped into some decent rivals in her six bumper starts and might not have to improve to land this. Is She Now ran a cracker on debut last autumn and is respected on a comeback, while Olivine Queen and Former Flame have shown ability. Hey Sunshine and Meitheal are respected on debut.
