13:50 Sandown – Twilight Calls
It does seem an awful long time since Twilight Calls‘ last victory back in April 2022 but he’s been in very hot company and he hasn’t always had things fall just right for him. This time around he has a good draw and he gets an added piece of headgear on for extra focus. The race should set up perfectly with a few in here likely to go lickety-split and set it up for a closer.
14:05 Haydock – Fouroneohfever
Fouroneohfever has been a rapid improver since going handicapping and judged on the way he ran at the Royal meeting, that progress is not stalling. He was very free early on and did incredibly well to finish as strongly as he did last time and the extra quarter mile of this contest looks perfect.
14:25 Sandown – Holloway Boy
Holloway Boy has a huge amount of ability but doesn’t always seem to produce or put his best foot forward. He’s off the back of what was an eye-catching effort in the Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot when fifth. That should’ve teed him up nicely for this contest.
14:40 Haydock – Sea Theme
Sea Theme was behind a couple of these last time but that was her first start of the current campaign, so she should improve for the run. Despite hitting a flat spot, she closed up nicely towards the finishing line. She can take a significant jolt forward now.
15:00 Sandown – Spiritual (each-way)
Spiritual seems to be getting more settled with her racing and there are a few guaranteed front runners, so she may well be able to drop in and find a rhythm. If that’s the case, she could well run a huge race at each-way odds. Added to that, she’s been given a break and the John & Thady Gosden team are in better form now than they were in the early part of the campaign.
15:15 Haydock – If Not Now (each-way)
If Not Now was asked a couple of big questions at Lingfield and Epsom that have proved beyond his capabilities. Given the more galloping nature of the track at Haydock, he can take a significant step up the ladder from what looks a relatively decent mark of just 99.
15:35 Sandown – City Of Troy
Let’s sit back and enjoy City Of Troy’s progression as he continues his march to greatness! The Epsom Derby winner has tasted defeat only once in his career and that was a seasonal debut no show in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket. Ryan Moore looked after him and Team Ballydoyle reaped the benefit next time in his run-away Epsom Derby win. His season can really start to take off now.
