16:55 Bellewstown – Bizarre Dreams
Moutarde had BIZARRE DREAMS just behind at Gowran but the selection didn’t get the breaks that day on her handicap debut for which she was strong in the market. Thrifty Of Digby looks ready for today’s step up in trip, while Saffredi, Nakasero and one or two others can be given chances.
17:40 Tipperary – Makfils
This looks open but perhaps MAKFILS will be good enough to defy an 8lb rise for a Punchestown win achieved after a break. Likely dangers include Katakana who contests her first handicap now, Spick And Span and Cash The Cheque.
18:45 Newbury – Brightwalton
Some of the debutantes have good credentials, most notably BRIGHTWALTON and Handcuffed. The market signals should offer further guidance. Shostakova and Havana Dance help to set a form standard that isn’t particularly daunting.
19:00 Kempton – Pumalin Park
Things clicked for the Sir Michael Stoute-trained PUMALIN PARK at Salisbury last time and this lightly raced 4yo can continue to progress. The unexposed Indemnity could also have more to offer and is second choice ahead of C&D winners City Of York and Whitcombe Rockstar.
19:10 Bellewstown – Whispering Hopes
Lilac Lady will be popular to go one better than at Gowran and can be involved but a chance is taken on WHISPERING HOPES. She can improve from her first run of the year in a Down Royal maiden and score on handicap debut. Viyanni is also interesting on handicap debut.
19:20 Newbury – Spell Master
The shortlist is headed by the three most expensive purchases in the field, namely SPELL MASTER, King Of Bears and I Maximus in that order of preference. The first and third choices are interesting newcomers, while the second choice showed some promise over C&D in May. The Hannon factor brings Meeghat and Jet Packer into calculations too. Follow the market signals for further guidance.
19:35 Kempton – Simply Sondheim
Ludo’s Landing is 4lb well in after his good second at Carlisle last week and he’s high on the list, while last month’s C&D winner Cracksking (second choice) also comes right into the reckoning. Graignes returns to Britain on a dangerous mark but his stablemate SIMPLY SONDHEIM has a fine record in AW handicaps and this mark looks in range judged on his peak efforts.
20:00 Tipperary – Annie Questions
Wide open but ANNIE QUESTIONS made a good start in handicap company when second over a similar trip at Listowel and can go one better. She holds Ordered Lives on that form and a line through the fourth gives her the beating of Moyvilla Lass who showed notable improvement at Kilbeggan and has a top jockey on board. Tullyhogue Fort is a solid performer at this level and merits respect as does Its Not Over Yet whose handicap debut sixth at Downpatrick was promising.
20:25 Newbury – I Love Paris
Several runners are similarly appealing in this open-looking contest. Slight preference is for I LOVE PARIS, ahead of similar type Ravenswell. Their form has substance. See That Storm (third choice but well respected) is an obvious player, assuming he returns from a break in good fettle, while fellow handicap debutant Kingkeer is also interesting and Outgun is another for the shortlist.
