14:10 Quietness

It’s hard to get away from Marcus Tregoning’s QUIETNESS who won a deeper fillies’ handicap than this at Salisbury last time when holding on by a short head from Alhattan after making the running. Earlier successful at Windsor, she can complete the hat-trick. At the other end of the handicap, Ready To Shine, who has been hurdling since her last run on the Flat in February, has a career-low mark to work with on the back of a breathing operation so is tentatively offered for the forecast.‌

14:40 Secret Mistral

SECRET MISTRAL returned an improved filly when successful on her reappearance over course and distance last month and still looks ahead of her mark despite taking a 7lb hike for that two-length win over Thunder Star. Loco Lobo also made a promising reappearance when fourth here, despite pulling hard over six furlongs, and rates a big danger down in trip on that effort although being 3lb ‘wrong’ in the weights. Nogo’s Dream and Oneforsue can also have a say in this competitive sprint.‌

15:10 Raison Detre

This has the look of a decent two-year-old fillies’ maiden with RAISON DETRE taken to get off the mark on the back of a promising debut for Eve Johnson Houghton when third at York in a fillies’ novice that has produced winners. Miss Hathaway surely has races in her judged on her narrow defeat in a novice at Thirsk last time, while Flashy Dark Angel and Ecology head up the newcomers for the yards of Kevin Ryan and Ollie Sangster respectively.

15:40 Tiriac

TIRIAC is a sprinter going the right way for Jack Channon and this isn’t as strong as the race he contested at York last time when third to Holkham Bay after conceding the first run to the pair who beat him, so he’s a confident choice to resume winning ways. The likeable Grant Wood, a course-and-distance winner last time, could be the one to chase him home, while Hyperfocus, back to form when making all at Chester last time, is also worthy of consideration.

‌16:10 Sir Paul Ramsey

A few in with a squeak in this two-year-old novice but SIR PAUL RAMSEY showed a fair level of ability when third to Wolf of Badenoch on his debut for Charlie Johnston at Doncaster last month and he can go a couple of places better with improvement on the cards. Charlie Appleby saddles a couple of likely candidates in newcomer Olympus Point (closely related to Godolphin’s top-class sprinter Blue Point) and Cavallo Bay, so they head up the opposition, with Jorge Alvares another worth a mention now stepping up in trip.

‌16:45 Kode Secret

Tim Easterby’s progressive handicapper KODE SECRET is taken to record his third win on the bounce after victories at Carlisle and Redcar, the latter from subsequent winner Titainium, perhaps at the chief expense of unexposed handicap debutant Smouldering who still looked green when winning a novice at Kempton and should have more to offer. Arkhalia Flynn is another to consider in his first handicap, having run his best race in a first-time hood when second at Yarmouth last time.
