This mark looks within range for FIDELIUS, who won’t mind being back on the AW, and he’s preferred to Via Blanca, who’s back around her last winning mark in first-time blinkers. Stalls 7 and 8 don’t look ideal for the serially buzzy Persian Blue and front-runner Musical Diva.
14:10 – Implacable
Five of the six have already had a go in at least one handicap and Warbler looks the pick of those, ahead of Bradman. However, they all look vulnerable to improvement from the handicap newcomer IMPLACABLE who has shown promise and is likely to prove well suited by the longer trip.
14:45 – Whos Glen
The newcomers need a check but, unless there is significant support for one of them, this looks to be between WHO’S GLEN, Something and Ribba Hill, who are preferred in that order. The selection showed more than enough promise back in January to get the vote, even though he, like the second choice, may eventually prove suited by a bit further still.
15:20 – Meng Tian
Lots hold each-way claims but preference is for MENG TIAN who won over 8.6f here in April and now looks worth the attempt at this longer trip. Garden View is second on the list, just ahead of this month’s C&D one-two Prince Hector and High Court Judge.
15:55 – Atlantic Gamble (NAP)
Two of Diffident Spirit’s turf wins came when he was fresh, which is a bonus as he returns from more than a year off, but ATLANTIC GAMBLE (nap), who’s looked on the upgrade for a yard in good nick, is selected to defy a 6lb rise and complete the hat-trick. Orbital should fare better back on the AW in first-time headgear.
16:30 – Outreach
Mintana has done her winning in sprints, while the inconsistent Miss Calculation is drawn widest in her bid to go back to back. Forgotten Treasure would hold obvious claims if last weekend’s short-priced blowout, when far too free, were ignored. However, Mark Usher holds a strong hand, with OUTREACH, whose record over C&D reads 22143, preferred to Sea The Buckthorn.
