14:35 Newcastle – Belgoprince (Matt Polley)

BELGOPRINCE is a stablemate of Alphonse Le Grande whio scored easily at Epsom (1m4f) last August. Close second in Sligo handicap hurdle (2m2f) most recently. Stays 2m under this code and acts on AW. Interesting, with James Doyle a very positive booking.

15:00 Chester – Radio Goo Goo (The Punt)

RADIO GOO GOO is a dual C&D winner who handles most ground. Justified favouritism at Ripon (6f, good) last month and was close third at Haydock next time. Things didn’t go well here (5f, soft) two weeks ago but that was from a wide draw and she could bounce back on this step back up in trip. Usually races prominently and she made all for her last win.

15:10 Newcastle – Spirit Mixer (Jim Delahunt)

SPIRIT MIXER was a close second in this race in 2022 on his only visit to Newcastle. Missed most of 2023 and has not been near his peak this season but there’s also been a 9lb slip in the weights, which saw him come third at Goodwood in second-time cheekpieces on latest outing. Needs to build on that.

15:30 Curragh – Francophone (Jon Freeman)

FRANCOPHONE was well held on soft ground in the Group 2 May Hill at Doncaster last September, useful form otherwise. Southwell winner on return and second of seven in the Group 3 Musidora at York. Workmanlike winner of 1m2f Listed race at Goodwood five weeks ago.
