Knight Templar (second choice) finished second in his first two handicaps and is likely to open his account soon, while Idyllic and Brassavola also ran well in defeat when last in action. However, a more speculative option to consider is three-time Polytrack winner SEMSER, who shaped well before fading into fifth at Brighton this month and now returns to his preferred surface on a tempting mark.

Handicap debutant EXTRICATION has had the form of his latest improved effort franked and he might have enough up his sleeve to see off a bunch of exposed campaigners. It wouldn’t be a surprise should Great Max pop up sooner rather than later and his stablemate Riot is another with claims
20:00 Doncaster – Indivar
David O’Meara’s INDIVAR posted a good effort when third on slower-than-ideal ground at Leicester a fortnight ago and can land this prize if the addition of cheekpieces has a positive effect. Marmaduke Lemon drops back in trip after an encouraging handicap debut over 1m and may also be aided by first-time headgear here. Bella Bisbee, who ties in with the selection on Leicester form, and Alfie Boy are others to consider.
20:15 Lingfield – Mbappe
Alabama Anna makes her handicap debut at a low level and she could take a marked step forward but she did miss an intended run on Wednesday with a vet’s certificate. Buy The Dip comes here on the back of a win and can go well but MBAPPE is on the right path now and he can score again.
20:30 Doncaster – Celebrating Ethel
None of the five runners can be ruled out but the vote goes to CELEBRATING ETHEL who can build on his earlier promise for Tony Carroll and provide his in-form yard with another winner. Atlantis Blue could emerge as the chief threat off an easing mark, although both C&D scorer Turner Girl and the low-mileage Throubi can have a say too.
20:45 Lingfield – Little Miss Magic (NAP)
Em Jay Kay looks like the solid option given he’s been threatening in recent starts but LITTLE MISS MAGIC (nap) is preferred. She doesn’t have the profile of one that these confined handicaps were designed for and there was enough promise at Salisbury 18 days ago to think she could progress past her exposed rivals. Entries next Thursday and Friday are encouraging too given she’d escape a penalty were she to win this. Alpine Girl is the best of the rest.
