I’m struggling to pick between Rock Of Cashel and Trinity College. Ryan Moore is on board for Aidan O’Brien on the former. He’s very appealing and he’s a half-brother to three winners. Trinity College is Aidan’s other runner and he’s worth keeping an eye on.
13:45 – Apricot Ice
Apricot Ice is a maiden winner who got a rating of 84 and her form is holding up after winning over course and distance in May. She runs off 87 now but the form has been franked.
14:20 – American Bar
American Bar is worth taking a chance on after winning at Listowel. He looks a bit of value considering he dwelt at the start on his debut and still won.
14:55 – Ecureuil Secret (each way)
I’m siding with Ecureuil Secret as an each-way shout at a big price. I’m hoping he can run into the places after a decent third behind Chief Little Rock in the Gallinule Stakes over course and distance last month.
15:30 – Emily Upjohn
Stay Alert was unlucky in this race last year and looks to have improved. The John & Thady Gosden horses are in better form now and Emily Upjohn can see off Bluestocking with the pair battling at the top of the market.
16:05 – Bialystok
The drop in trip to 1m2f could be the making of Bialystock in the Ladies Derby. Jody Townend claims 3lbs too which is always a bonus.
16:40 – Lucky Out
Lucky Out can run a big race at a nice price after being upped in trip. He’s now up to a mile and I’m hoping that works out for Thomas Mullins’ runner.
17:15 – John Steinbeck
There’s only five runners in the last race on the card and if John Steinbeck is long odds on, he could win it. If he’s not, there’s a doubt!
