15:05 Cartmel – Ellon (Jim Delahunt)
In-form 9yo ELLON won twice over 3m at Hexham this spring (good/soft) and again ran well when third there (2m4f, good) on Sunday. Moves up in grade today, though, and needs a career-best effort here.
15:55 Doncaster – Soames Forsyte (Tipman)
SOAMES FORSYTE is inconsistent on turf and unproven on fast ground, but he won twice on AW in the winter and posted his first grass win at Nottingham (1m, good) this month. He’s a player if backing up that latest effort, up just 2lb.
17:25 Newcastle – Bergerac (Jon Freeman)
BERGERAC won twice on Tapeta late last year, the first over C&D and then from a mark 2lb higher than today’s at Southwell (5f). Out of the frame in his last three starts on turf, but respected off this mark returned here.
18:35 Newcastle – Cheshire Dancer (Matt Polley)
CHESHIRE DANCER had just about her least effective performance yet when beaten 6l at Kempton 23 days ago but off the same mark as for her second at Haydock and she ran well in a novice here before then.
