Some potentially exciting newcomers here, particularly the Paddy Twomey-trained Admiral Churchill, the Joseph O’Brien-trained Viking Invasion and Ballydoyle debutant Ides Of March. Aidan O’Brien’s first-string Snapdragon should improve from his Naas debut, but one of the most eye-catching runs this season was that of EAST HAMPTON in a C&D maiden last month and he might prove good enough.
17:30 – And So To Bed
This could be a maiden worth following given some of the pedigrees on offer but the one to side with this time could be AND SO TO BED who was green on debut but shaped like she would relish a step up in trip. Dahlia Noir’s form from last month is already working out and newcomers to keep an eye on are Marazion, Bay Colony and Ballydoyle pair, Lake Victoria and Exactly.
18:40 – Siege Of Troy
After a narrow defeat on debut and shaping like she would relish a bit further at Gowran last time, SIEGE OF TROY could be the one to side with in the hope she takes to first-time cheekpieces. Royal Entry’s second run was encouraging and she may give her the most to think about.
19:15 – St Faz
Cases can be made for the vast majority in this one. Stoke The Fire might just be preferred over top-weight Scaramanga from the Mullins runners. Grappa Nonino has definite claims after finishing second here last month and the step up in trip will not be an issue. Golden Temple comes here after two emphatic wins over hurdles. But, the preference is for ST FAZ, winner of a Killarney maiden hurdle before a good effort over 1m5f at Leopardstown.
19:50 – Brewel Hill
Plenty with claims including last time out winners King Of The Bronx on debut for Gavin Cromwell and Kentucky Gal with John Velazquez in the saddle. However, BREWEL HILL ran a huge race on his seasonal return last time out and he should go well with improvement likely and the ground in his favour.
20:25 – Lady Christa (NAP)
An open contest and plenty have chances. Son Of Hypnos should go close after his narrow defeat at Down Royal. Unexposed types such as Model Approach, Robbies Rock and Al Mudhaffar are all respected. The one to beat could be LADY CHRISTA (nap), who relished the trip when beating L’Un Deux Trois at Fairyhouse and might not be halted by an 11lb rise.
