14:10 Nottingham – Alpine Stroll (Racing Post)

Story Horse is the one with a persuasive recent performance, thanks to his comfortable win five days ago, but also a bit more to prove over this longer trip. A chance is taken on ALPINE STROLL, whose only two wins were registered at this track and might be excused his only two runs for Alexandra Dunn as they were on AW. Chilled Out won last month on his first two starts after making the change of stables for the same owners, while King Of War was second recently in his first two. Most of the others in this field can be given a chance.

15:00 Newcastle – Heartened (The Sun)

Louie The Legend (second choice) is a likely newcomer in a race where those with experience don’t set the bar too high and the market should be a good guide as to what’s expected. HEARTENED was sorely in need of the experience on her Pontefract debut but she did stay on quite nicely to take third behind a promising winner and one who has run well in defeat since, and she may well come on a ton over the extra furlong. Wedadi can also benefit from her Leicester debut while In A Hurry looks the pick of the remaining newcomers.

15:45 Nottingham – Covert Legend (Daily Record)

This can go to COVERT LEGEND who has been all the better for wind surgery, winning quite handily on the AW before getting a terrible run at Thirsk next time. There are some interesting rivals against him, though, including Windsor Pass now back on more suitable ground and Taravara returned to 1m. Handicap debutant Terries Royale (second choice) is also worth a look.

16:30 Newmarket – Able Kane (Daily Mail)

The reapplication of blinkers and return to this C&D could both be positives for ABLE KANE, who is 7lb lower than when winning here last June. He earns the vote ahead of two-time course winner Mitrosonfire who went close at Leicester last time. The reappearing Ararat enjoyed a progressive 3yo campaign last season.
