17:15 Newcastle – Rainyniteingeorgia

Topweight RAINYNITEINGEORGIA was an encouraging third at Goodwood on last month’s reappearance and is taken to add to last September’s win in an AW novice at Lingfield. Pearl Abbey finished last on her handicap debut at Haydock three weeks ago but won a maiden on the Wolverhampton Tapeta in March and is feared most now back on AW. C&D winner Cast No Shadow is another who may appreciate the return to Tapeta.

17:40 Newmarket – Pfingstberg

Dereham (second choice) bids to win this race for the third year in a row (but is unraced on firmer than good) and Red Force One is on a hat-trick, but preference is for PFINGSTBERG who has done well with increasing stamina tests and has more to offer at 2m+ judged on his breakthrough win at Lingfield. My Chiquita and Churchella are also in the mix, so it’s competitive despite the small field.

17:45 Hamilton – The Dancing Poet

Several have possibilities but the vote goes to THE DANCING POET, who has won two of his last three starts and had plenty in hand when forging clear under Matt Brown at Catterick last week. Zephlyn, who has form figures of 31221 on AW this year, could pose the biggest threat if he can transfer his progress back to the turf. Tafsir is respected after a good spell on turf in her last five runs, while Rory The Cat ran well at Pontefract last time and is respected on his drop back in trip.

18:30 Leicester – Love Your Work

Multiple AW winner LOVE YOUR WORK was arguably unlucky not to double his turf tally at Yarmouth last month but has a good chance to gain compensation off the same mark here. Ravenglass has been placed in three of his four starts since returning to turf in April and is likely to be in the shake-up again, while a revival from My Ambition is not ruled out.

19:15 Hamilton – Never Dark

Zarzyni and Jordan Electrics are both slightly ahead of the handicapper after going close on Saturday, while there could easily be a lot more to come from low-mileage 3yo Mutamanni (second choice), who bids to complete a hat-trick. However, free-goer NEVER DARK has dropped to a tempting mark, and his recent Chester fourth suggested he is coming back to the boil.

20:30 Leicester – Salamanca Lad

Dual AW winner Aspire To Glory hit a personal best with his runner-up effort at Ripon last week and is a big player if he can back that up on this switch to fast ground. Monk’s Mead has claims if he can recapture the form of his second at Bath last month, while the handicap newcomers Hey Big Spender and Solo Solataire need a close look in the market. However, the vote goes to SALAMANCA LAD who bounced back with a good third at Ripon last time and is now back on his winning mark.
