Wild Clary is the form pick but he was beaten by an interesting newcomer last time and faces two such contestants in this field, namely Tattersalls Book 1 purchases DASH OF AZURE (first choice) and Luther who both look potentially above average. The market signals should help to complete the picture.

14:53 Worcester – Gouazec (Racing Post)

Dirk Gently and Bells Of Stamford (preferred in that order) ran well in defeat last time and both remain unexposed over staying trips but perhaps it might be worth chancing three-time point winner GOUAZEC, who has made a very quiet start to his rules career but might come into his own on today’s chasing debut. Eightytwo Team is next on the list.

15:05 Carlisle – Gibside (Daily Mirror)

Several of these caught the eye having to bide their time on their latest outings, which did not prevent Ludo’s Landing from registering a clearcut win at Beverley but two birds had flown when GIBSIDE launched his late bid at York, while Born Ruler and Gallant Lion also saw daylight when it was too late in their clash at Sandown. Gibside, whose wins include one over C&D, may be the one to latch on to today among that group, ahead of Ludo’s Landing, but several others need respect, including Sea The Thunder as an unexposed 3yo.

17:40 Worcester – Faded Fantasy (The Guardian)

Cases can be made for a few of these but FADED FANTASY looked back in good nick when going close over C&D at the start of this month and is still well handicapped after a 6lb rise. He gets the vote ahead of Shuil Ceoil, who is also in good form. Mactavish needs to bounce back from a below-par run last time but will be a tough nut to crack if able to match the form he showed at Ludlow two starts ago.
