14:18 – For Three

A few of these warrant consideration but top of the list is FOR THREE, who followed last month’s emphatic Sedgefield win with a good effort over C&D and remains well handicapped on older form. Albert Park posted a sound effort when third at Market Rasen recently and is not yet fully exposed, while Kopa Kilana went close over C&D last weekend and also features prominently in calculations.

14:48 – Better Be Definite (NAP)

Breakdance Kid drew well clear on the run-in to win a 3m chase here eight days ago and will be dangerous if in similar form back over hurdles but his record is very mixed and he’s not easy one to predict. Ready preference is for BETTER BE DEFINITE (nap), who kept on strongly from off the pace to double his hurdling tally over C&D last month and has a running style that could make it difficult for the handicapper to get his measure. Iturgeon Du Breuil was placed in his first two handicaps and is next on the list, while Jeteye needs close attention in the betting.

15:18 – The Flying Poet

Olly Murphy’s THE FLYING POET did not achieve a huge amount when fourth on last month’s debut at Bangor but he’s Sean Bowen’s only ride on the card here and can take a big step forward over today’s longer trip. Independent Jimmy ran about as well as could have been expected when second to a very short-priced favourite at Market Rasen last month and should also be suited by today’s step up to 2m4f, while Fairland probably has a better chance than the figures might suggest.

15:48 – R S Ambush

The pick of last season’s handicap form makes R S AMBUSH a strong contender in this field and he earns the vote ahead of Stuti, who has been a fair third the last twice. The newcomer Lathan is a half-brother to Scottish National winner Macdermott and is worth a second look.

16:18 – Imperial Data

Top weight IMPERIAL DATA was reeled in by a stout stayer in the closing stages over C&D last week but that performance still continued the very good progress he has made since last summer’s wind surgery, and he is taken to overcome a 5lb rise. Haarar moves into a handicap after winning twice in novice company last month but dual course winner Belvedere Blast signalled a returned to form on his latest outing and is feared more.

16:48 – Going Mobile

He has to compete from 5lb out of the weights today but GOING MOBILE looked in excellent nick when beating Dream Jet by 5l over C&D last weekend and, with none of his rivals really firing on all cylinders lately, he may reward an enterprising piece of placement by Sam England. Carcaci Castle has not yet built upon his promising chase debut in February but is second choice, ahead of Grain D’Oudairies.

17:18 – Meetmeinthemorning

The step back up in trip could be just what MEETMEINTHEMORNING needs on his second chase start and he earns the vote ahead of the unexposed 6yo Edgewell, who is a possible improver in first-time cheekpieces. Elleon and Backbyjet arrive in fine form and hold strong claims.

17:48 – Lewesdon Dancer

The mare LEWESDON DANCER was a promising third on last month’s debut at Kelso and is the selection under Brian Hughes. The Nicky Richards-trained debutant Jehol De Thaix is feared most, although two-time bumper winner Takt De Touques and Newton Abbot runner-up Born In The West are other likely dangers. Drumlee Myth is an interesting rules newcomer.
