Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.

Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.

So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…

15:05 Ascot – Gilded Water (Jon Freeman)

Same connections won this race last year. GILDED WATER has been confined to three runs this spring, taking major steps forward. Surged well clear from the rest in the closing stages of a maiden at Chepstow (1m2f, good to soft) three weeks ago and, although the opposition that day looked fair at best, he’s an exciting prospect whose dam is a 1m4f winner.

15:45 Ascot – Diamond Rain (Templegate)

DIAMOND RAIN won on debut here (1m, good to soft) on May 1 then took big step forward with commanding Listed win at Newbury (1m2f, good), when again strong at the finish. Her dam Dancing Rain won the Oaks and she promises to be suited by today’s trip.

16:25 Ascot – Trawlerman (Sunday Express)

TRAWLERMAN can make the running. Unraced beyond 2m but the way he rallied for a narrow win here (1m7f, good to soft) last October gives plenty of hope regarding the distance and his victim that day was Kyprios. That followed two runaway odds-on wins at much lower levels on good to firm. Made a satisfactory reappearance when third in the Dubai Gold Cup in March. Firmly in the mix.

17:40 Ascot – Sons And Lovers (Matt Polley)

Jane Chapple-Hyam won this in 2022 with Claymore, who was stepped up in trip on the back of a 7f debut win then two defeats at 1m. SONS AND LOVERS matches that description and the way he’s shaped in 1m Group 3/Listed races the last twice suggests 1m2f can prompt improvement.
