BEAUTIFUL CROWN struck at the first time of asking for Jack Jones at Lingfield last week, landing an almighty gamble in the process, and the manner of that success suggests he can defy a penalty assuming he can cope with 2 outings in quick succession after a break. Breguet Boy took a step back in the right direction when fourth over a mile at Bath last time and is second choice ahead of Zambezi Magic, who would have finished closer last time but for meeting trouble.

It’s hard to look beyond STOCKPYLE, who ran up to his best to record his first win for nearly two years at Kempton last week, allowed an easy time of things on the front end but still fairly impressive.
The fact he is able to race from the same mark now due to the conditions of that race, while his rider is also allowed to claim his full allowance, makes him very hard to oppose from a handicapping perspective. Micks Dream heads up the dangers returning from 8 months off, ahead of Racing Demon, who won twice last month (including over course and distance) but needs to shake off a poor effort at Windsor subsequently.

FEERAAS was an expensive yearling, who is bred to be useful, and he shaped with plenty of promise when finishing placed on his debut at Lingfield last month, making the running but fading in the closing stages as though he’d come on for the run both physically and mentally. That form is working out well and, with improvement anticipated, he should take the beating in what looks like a normal event. Waking Dream, who looked in need of the experience last week, may prove a different proposition now.

An open-looking sprint with the suggestion being GLAMOROUS EXPRESS, who caught the eye with his move into contention at Kempton last month, a hefty bump at the start not helping his chance, and looks interesting back in class 5 company. Dolly Gray ended her four-year-old campaign with success, so she’s put forward as the main danger on reappearance, ahead of five-time course winner Connie’s Rose and Coco Bear.
16:18 Bama Lama
Plenty of these met in a race over this course and distance recently and the winner that day, BAMA LAMA, gets the vote to go in again given the authority he scored with. She built on a couple of encouraging efforts to open her account for the season and a subsequent 3lb rise is workable. Diamondsinthesand has just a sole success to his name, but he shaped as if in good form when fifth behind the selection last time so is put forward as the main danger, with Global Effort rounding off the shortlist.
16:55 Kalama Sunrise
KALAMA SUNRISE showed improved form fitted with first-time cheekpieces to open her account over this course and distance nine days ago, going with far more zest than previously and displaying a determined attitude at the finish. A subsequent 2lb rise is fair and she may have even more to offer now she’s up and running. Letter of The Law was runner-up over this course and distance on the same day and can provide the chief threat
