The vote in this one goes to veteran COPPER KNIGHT who has shown plenty of his old dash of late and can now add to his 2022 success in this event. 4lb out of the handicap when third out of 12 at York (5f) three weeks ago and that form has been franked so he’s a player off his proper mark here.

14:40 Sandown – Adaay In Devon (Spotlight)

Rod Millman’s admirable filly A DAAY IN DEVON is an uncomplicated ride and her latest third in a warm Listed race at Newbury reads well. Comes into this race with a very good (6-14) strike-rate and won handicap and Listed race at Bath (5f, heavy/good) in April.

15:50 Sandown – French Master (Daily Mirror)

FRENCH MASTER is a brother to 1m/1m2f winner Mohaafeth (Group 3; RPR 116), closely related to 1m4f AW winner French Polish (78) and half-sister to 1m2f Listed winner Soft Centre (dam of 1m2f Group 1 winner). He has excellent pedigree and the stable introduced next week’s Hardwicke contender Middle Earth in this race 12 months ago (finished second).

17:20 York – Lucky Man (Postdata)

LUCKY MAN rolled the dice successfully in better 6f handicaps than this two years ago and his Thirsk reappearance suggested he is back on track after a low key 2023 season.
