If he settles better now going chasing Jet Patrol would have a good chance, but he has been way too free in some of his races over hurdles and preference is for last month’s C&D winner SHADOWS IN THE SKY who has his ideal conditions once again. Going Mobile should also run well.
18:10 Uttoxeter – Just Chasing May
There are unexposed rivals lurking in the shadows but JUST CHASING MAY was in the process of running a big race before his last-flight fall here four weeks ago, and that form has already worked out very well (first and second both next-time-out winners). State Of Honor has more to prove but she was set to win pretty fairly comfortably off today’s mark before falling at Hereford last year and last month’s Ffos Las run might well have brought her on. Joker Du Chenet and Chancer Dancer are others with possibilties.
18:18 Leicester – Siempre Arturo
Royal Dream has won twice on AW this spring but in between he was well beaten at Yarmouth and has something to prove on turf. Preference is for SIEMPRE ARTURO, who was a fair fifth on last month’s turf debut at Windsor and this race may take a lot less winning. The reappearing Olympicus is second choice, with Masqool next on the list now back up in trip.
18:30 Hexham – Caius Marcius
In what looks a competitive race for the grade, a chance is taken on the fine veteran CAIUS MARCIUS, who has a good record fresh and his ideal conditions. The progressive pair of Well Educated and Imperial Data also have sound chances.
19:10 Uttoxeter – Of Course You Can
This new trip could bring out further improvement in Killybegs Jet Lady, while Giulietta won in good style at Worcester on Thursday and will be feared if she makes a quick reappearance under a penalty. However, the suggestion is Neil Mulholland’s OF COURSE YOU CAN who has been making gradual progress, and appears in need of a thorough test of stamina.
19:25 Leicester – Master Of My Fate
The unexposed Mutamanni is respected on his handicap debut but Doctor Vuby and MASTER OF MY FATE appeal more. The latter has yet to match his 2yo form so far this year but he was stuck out in the middle of the track at Musselburgh last time and a 3lb drop for that helps matters.
19:45 Uttoxeter – Roll With It
Pretty good cases can be made for all six runners. Rajjamataz looked in excellent nick when coasting to victory at Fontwell last month and is not opposed lightly but ROLL WITH IT was not beaten far in a competitive race for the grade on his recent stable debut, despite a sloppy round of jumping, and can take a big step forward if he gets into a better rhythm here.
20:00 Leicester – Sub Thirteen
Kodi Red is handicapped to win and he’s high on the list after a good effort at Haydock last time. If sufficient rain arrives for Gentle Ellen to take her chance then she’s capable of a big run, while Shark Two One, Yellow Pages and Special Mayson (second choice) also have something to recommend them. SUB THIRTEEN‘s winning run came to an end at Salisbury last time but he wasn’t well positioned as things panned out and he could still have more in the tank for his new stable.
