Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
15:00 Yarmouth – Five Winds (Spotlight)
The pick in this one is FIVE WINDS who coped fine with the return to sprinting when chasing home in-form opposition at Leicester. Consistent since switching over to handicaps, the first two over 7f but fine back at 6f when a clear third in that race at Leicester (6f, good); down 1lb from that and hard to rule out.
18:40 Kempton – City House (Racing Post)
A chance is taken that CITY HOUSE revives back on an artificial surface. He recorded an RPR of 95 over C&D back in October. Couldn’t make a case to support on what we saw at Newmarket this year (particularly last time) but his AW form reads very well and will be a contender.
18:50 Hamilton – Dramatic Star (Postdata)
This looks to be a good opportunity for DRAMATIC STAR to get off the mark. He has shown plenty of ability in both starts, including when just beaten by a subsequent winner at Nottingham last time out, while the extra furlong on a stiff track should be right up his street.
20:45 Kempton – Wannabe Brave (Daily Telegraph)
WANNABE BRAVE (NAP) has looked in tremendous heart during his hat-trick this spring and the chances are that he will now complete a four-timer. Took advantage of a reduced mark to score at Wolverhampton in April, then followed up at Chelmsford and Lingfield (unpenalised) last month, all over 2m on AW. He also had a C&D win in 2022, the latest was authoritative, and going back up 4lb today may well keep him underestimated.
