14:13 Fontwell – Briefly

This would be no harder than the Uttoxeter novice that Gwash (next best) may well have held on in but for exiting at the last, and although he carries his head a bit high sometimes he enters this event with his temperament under less suspicion than fellow penalised winner Pyffo. Even so, there may be some mileage in taking both on with BRIEFLY, hitherto gently progressive over trips probably further from her optimum than today’s.

15:43 Fontwell – He Is A Cracker

There is lots to take on trust, such as whether Dear Ralphy has turned a corner, whether He’llstopatthetop’s confidence remains intact after his late last-time fall, and whether No More No (next best) can sustain his transformation now he’s upped in trip. HE IS A CRACKER similarly needs to prove his recent return run was simply needed, but if that’s the case a return to the mark he defied in a C&D chase last autumn can be capitalised upon.

 

18:20 Hamilton – Gatwick Kitten

Captain Dandy had five of these behind when third at Redcar 15 days ago and he should go well again, while C&D winner Global Humour should appreciate the return to this trip. Fellow course winners Mr Trevor and Peachey Carnehan also make the shortlist, but the vote goes to GATWICK KITTEN. He would have gone much closer had he not been badly hampered on last month’s Leicester reappearance and has dropped 1lb below his last winning mark.

19:10 Kempton – Warbler

While Free Speech, Aiming High and College Choir should be on the premises, this may go to WARBLER, who’s an interesting handicap debutante, with Reyaadah Star feared most on this return to the scene of her maiden win

19:20 Hamilton – Mr Irrelevant

Topweight MR IRRELEVANT knows how to get the job done and is taken to defy a penalty and make it four wins from his last five starts. The unbeaten filly Bengurion is feared most on her turf and handicap debut, while Dubai Hills can’t be ignored after his commanding win at Pontefract.

19:40 Kempton – Assembled

This looks very tricky but preference is for ASSEMBLED who knew how to win last season and now has the benefit of a run under his belt this term. The Bay Warrior (second choice) and Fougere are among the dangers.
