Sean Bowen is a good booking for Berliet Express, who only faded out of contention in the closing stages of his last two races and may show the benefit of a subsequent wind op. Abaya Du Mathan and Guillaume also make the shortlist.

This looks very open. ALRIGHT DAI earns marginal preference as it wasn’t a bad handicap debut on testing ground and his bumper form reads well in today’s context. City Of Ruins and Jysuis are likely improvers on their handicap debuts, while Sanitiser and Zhang Fei would be tempting on goodish ground.
18:05 – Hobbs Delight
Returning to Southwell, HOBB’S DELIGHT looks a good bet to give his true running which didn’t appear to be the case at Cartmel. Backinaction could be interesting over this longer trip on his handicap debut, while Lion’s Vigil, The Wise Traveller and Justshortofabubble should also have roles to play.
