15:37 Salisbury – Melisende (The Sun)
Following her 25-1 success over C&D last month, the big question for Thunderous Love is how the likely different ground conditions will impact her. Fourth-home Miss Stormy Night could finish closer to her on this better ground, but preference is for MELISENDE who ran well when second on her Yarmouth return (the form has been boosted) and had excuses for her latest Kempton effort. Ten Commitments and Little Miss Magic could take a step forward now that they are contesting their first handicap.
16:20 Southwell – Chancycourt (Telegraph)
Not much has gone to plan for CHANCYCOURT since his promising bumper debut in 2021 but he seemed to be in the process of running a big race before coming to grief on his recent handicap debut, and might have been found a good opportunity to get off the mark here. Electric Jet also fell on his recent handicap debut but he looks the main danger. Point winner Matchadam made a promising bumper debut in October and has possibilities if ready to roll after his break.
16:45 Sligo – Doctor Nightingale (Spotlight)
These claimers are rarely straightforward. The forecast rain bodes well for heavy-ground maiden winner DOCTOR NIGHTINGALE and she gets a tentative nod. Clever Currency won’t mind too much what the weather does and he appeared in good nick prior to struggling in a competitive handicap at Punchestown. A good few others have chances.
19:00 Wethery – John L Sullivan (The Guardian)
Atlantic Gamble, the only winner in the field, commands respect for that alone and he may build on his recent AW success. There are other runners of interest, though, notably JOHN L SULLIVAN, who stayed on for second in a C&D handicap six weeks ago that represents particularly strong form. Jez Bomb, Mist Rollin In and Ribble River (second choice) also come into the reckoning.
