17:40 – Safari Dream
Safari Dream is on a losing run that comprises 13 starts and stretches back to 2022, and he was disappointing at Goodwood last time. However, it’s easy enough to overlook his latest effort as it was in a much higher grade than this, while the cheekpieces he wore have quickly been discarded. Prior to that, Safari Dream had shaped with promise when third over this course and distance and third at Salisbury, and he looks up to winning off his current mark in this company.
18:10 – Pouting
Pouting cost £150,000 at the breeze-ups and she showed plenty of ability when going close on debut in a five-furlong maiden here last month, missing out by just a short head. She stuck to her task well there and, with the step up to six furlongs unlikely to pose a problem, can build on her debut promise to get off the mark. Patsy Snugfit also shaped nicely when third on debut here and wasn’t seen to best effect at Newmarket last time, so she retains potential and is the main danger.
18:40 – Midair
Midair is proving expensive to follow but he has shown ability and shaped better than the result would suggest when fourth on his handicap debut at Ascot last month as he was going well when short of room two furlongs out. This well-bred colt – by Frankel out of Group 2 winner Modern Look – was unlucky not to finish closer at Ascot and is worth another chance back in novice company, for all there’s some depth to this race. The main danger could be Daarkom who left his debut effort well behind when getting off the mark at Newcastle and is entitled to carry on improving.
19:10 – Lord Of Love
Lord of Love produced easily his best effort so far when fourth at Newmarket last month, coming from further back than the trio who beat him. That form sets the clear standard here and the way he stayed on at Newmarket suggests he will appreciate this step up in trip. His excellent pedigree – by Dubawi out of French Oaks winner Star of Seville – also offers encouragement there could be more to come on the back of that more promising effort.
19:40 -Rocking Ends
Rocking Ends was strong in the betting on his first start for Tom Clover (previously with Brett Johnson) over this course and distance a few weeks ago and he rewarded that support with a half-length success. Rocking Ends did well to prevail there as he had to overcome trouble in running and, with more to offer for this yard, a 2 lb rise in the weights should not be enough to stop him following up.
20:10 – City Of Delight
City of Delight improved on last season’s efforts when a close-up third at Goodwood on his reappearance last month and he also ran well when fourth at Kempton last time, shaping better than the result having been held up in a race where the winner made all. He should appreciate this step up in trip to a mile and a quarter and can build on the promise of his recent efforts to get off the mark.
20:40 – D Day Arvalenreeves
D Day Arvalenreeva proved as good as ever when runner-up on her return at Leicester last month, losing out by just a short head after conceding first run to the winner. D Day Arvalenreeva impressed with how she went through that contest and a 2lb rise in the weights shouldn’t prevent her from launching another bold bid, particularly with the assistance of William Buick in the saddle.
