13:27 – Mongibello
Clodders Dream is on the up and ought to make a bold bid but this may rest between the Crawford-trained pair Kimjoy and MONGIBELLO. The former was a short price in running when crashing out at the last at Bellewstown in April and if that fall hasn’t left a mark then she should take another step forward. Her stablemate Mongibello has some smart bumper form, though, and she makes her hurdle debut at a realistic level.
13:57 – Dapper Gent
Northern Cardinal and Marty McFly (second choice) set out their stall with solid performances in handicaps last time out, but DAPPER GENT has turned over a new leaf this spring and could prove the best option on his handicap debut.
14:32 – Belle Of Annandale
The Irish-trained handicap debutants Kinbara Firstdraft and Muhtaluza need monitoring for market confidence while Aldbourne is another who could improve for this less-demanding assignment. Thats Jet (second choice) may return to his Irish best now wearing cheekpieces but BELLE OF ANNANDALE is just preferred. Having made a promising start over hurdles, including over C&D, she’s found a combination of slow ground and an inflated handicap mark beyond her this year. Today’s test should be more suitable.
15:07 – Fix At All
God’s Own Getaway has made a bright start to his chasing career and is probably still improving but FIX AT ALL produced a good performance to win at Hereford in May and may be able to follow up off a 6lb higher mark. Thorough stayer Planned Paradise remains well handicapped after last month’s marathon second and is not ruled out over today’s much shorter trip, while it won’t be a surprise if Motown Maggie takes a big step forward from her low-key reappearance run.
15:42 – Duffle Coat (nap)
He’s not the only one arriving in good form but DUFFLE COAT (nap) looked in particularly good nick when landing a valuable prize at Ballinrobe last month and gets the nod. Recent Kempton winner Karl Philippe does not look too harshly treated by a 5lb rise and is feared most, while Ballygrifincottage has been knocking on the door in recent months and can pose a threat if handling today’s faster ground.
16:17 – Half Shot
Cap Du Nord collected a good prize at Plumpton ten weeks ago and remains well handicapped on some of his older form, while his long-absent stablemate General Probus has dropped to a good mark for this chasing debut and will be feared if strong in the betting. However, the suggestion is HALF SHOT, who drew nicely clear to win off today’s mark in the autumn and ran well in a much stronger race than this on his latest chasing start.
16:52 – Fever Dream
Dequall (second choice) and Euchan Falls had a major say in proceedings last time out but they look vulnerable against FEVER DREAM who is far less exposed and put up a bold show when upped to 2m4f on his handicap debut last time, form which has been boosted.
17:27 – River Ayr
This race is packed with each-way claims but the top two options may be Diamond State and RIVER AYR, who are both stepping up in trip after they were separated by three-quarters of a length when taking minor honours over 2m4f here last month. Preference is for River Ayr who is much more lightly raced. Pammi is the course specialist and Paddy Elvis has been placed in Northern Ireland.
