13:50 Haydock – Live In The Dream

LIVE IN THE DREAM has a decent draw in stall three and this 5f Listed contest looks tailor-made for him. Last season’s Nunthorpe winner. He should take a bit of beating, particularly after his debut run when a narrow second at this track to Kerdos on soft ground last month. The quicker ground conditions will suit him now.

14:05 Beverley – Maw Lam

A 5f conditions race for two-year-olds where debutant winner MAW LAM can make the most of a good draw in stall one. That will be an advantage over this trip at this track and she was a very good winner at Thirsk, despite hanging left. With that run under her belt, she can plot a straighter course this time.

14:25 Haydock – Divina Grace

A 1m 4f handicap where DIVINA GRACE made a pleasing comeback run at Goodwood when finishing third and can be expected to come off for that effort now. Maghlaak was a winner on debut last month but then disappointed a little when seventh at Redcar in the Zetland Gold Cup. Charlie Hills has reached for the blinkers but that’s not guaranteed to bring about an improvement.

14:40 Beverley – Regal Gem

Another 5f race for the two-year-old but just six are declared. REGAL GEM won well at Pontefract when showing plenty of speed. He sets a good standard. Shareholder cost €460,000 at the Breeze Up Sales in Arqana and will come here with a big reputation on the strength of that, but it’s hard to win a race first time out against experienced runners.

15:00 Haydock – Queen Of The Pride (each-way)

The Gosdens’ may have quite a good filly on their hands in QUEEN OF THE PRIDE. She was a good winner at Leicester on her final start as a three-year-old last season and put in a good show when second to Gather Ye Rosebuds at Goodwood over this 1m 4f trip last month. There should be more to come but she looks a solid each-way play in what is a competitive race.

15:15 Beverley – Eligible (each-way)

The golfer Lee Westwood owns ELIGIBLE and will be watching on from Texas. He’s down to a mark he can now win off. The going is the key with him and he needs quick ground. A solid each-way chance off his rating of 77 having won off 79 last season over a mile.

15:35 Haydock – Noble Dynasty / Ramazan

Godolphin’s NOBLE DYNASTY was a really good winner of a competitive handicap last time at Newmarket when giving 15lbs and a two-length beating to the runner-up, English Oaks. That stamped him as a Group horse in the making and this Group 3 contest over 7f should fit perfectly.

Of the others, the consistent RAMAZAN could have the race run to suit him as he usually comes home well off a strong pace.
