Returned to all weather (AW) on his second start for a new yard, HIGH COURT JUDGE may be the answer off an attractive mark. Balqaa, who has solid-looking claims back in this sphere, is second choice ahead of Come On John who is another nicely treated contender. The addition of headgear may help the maidens Dillydingdillydong and Capallcliste.
19:00 Wolverhampton – Bora Bora
The first three places over same course and distance (C&D) in April were occupied by BORA BORA, Candy Warhol and Streak Lightning and they all have claims again. The selection may yet have a bit more to come over this C&D and is preferred to Streak Lightning despite the latter’s slight misfortune that day. Beylerbeyi had another frustrating run at Nottingham on Sunday and is also on the list.
19:15 Lingfield – Harry Brown
Laoisman is on a sharp upward curve and looks to have the pace to cope with the drop in trip. He’s respected, along with Ancient Times and Star Of Lady M (second choice), but HARRY BROWN is preferred. His mark has dropped 4lb after two low-key turf runs but getting back on the AW looks a big plus and he can enhance an already fine record at this track.
19:30 Wolverhampton – Thoughtful Gift
With this step back up in distance a likely plus, Lingfield runner-up THOUGHTFUL GIFT is taken to go one better. Enzos Angel, who should prove suited by the return to Wolverhampton, is second choice. Little Empire won readily at Ayr yesterday, while Billy McGarry arrives in top form and Masterpainter is interesting on his penultimate effort.
20:00 Wolverhampton – Metal Beau
A chance is taken on METAL BEAU, who has something to find on form but is easily the least exposed contender and brings possible sources of improvement to this second handicap attempt. Dequinto (second choice) is drawn widest but he has been threatening to win a race of this nature, while Oriental Spirit starts his 2024 campaign on an attractive mark, Coast holds respectable claims on her form this spring and Glory Call has possibilities if taking well to headgear.
19:45 Lingfield – My Wonderful (NAP)
Invincible Speed went close over C&D last week and he’s feared off the same mark but he did enjoy the run of that race and still couldn’t oblige. Engineer may do better for a gelding operation but the two to appeal most are Queen’s Guard and MR WONDERFUL (NAP). The selection shaped well behind a rapid improver at Newcastle last month, his first start since last August, and he can rate higher with that outing behind him.
20:30 Wolverhampton – Kodi Hawk
Many of these are exposed and few are regular winners so it could be worth taking a chance on the lightly raced KODI HAWK, who was a decent fourth in a fair race at Chelmsford on his handicap debut in October, but hasn’t been out since. Eldeyaar, who is in form, could prove his main threat.
21:00 Wolverhampton – Show Me A Hero
None of these can be written off but a chance is taken on SHOW ME A HERO to win for the first time after showing promise. Followers of Golden Myrrh got their fingers burnt last time but she second choice. Con Te Partiro’s winning run came to an end last time but he could bounce back.
