14:20 – Wannabe Brave

WANNABE BRAVE has rediscovered his form since returning to the Flat, strong in the betting when winning at Wolverhampton last month, and he followed up without having to do much more at Chelmsford last week. He missed the break on that occasion, but only needed to be pushed out in the closing stages and, given he has won from higher marks in the past, he must have a good chance of completing a hat-trick from the same mark. Abraaj was a decisive winner over course and distance two weeks ago, so is feared most ahead of Daaris, who’s been knocking on the door in recent months.

14:50 – Smart Deal

SMART DEAL is a two-time winner on the all-weather, his last victory coming over this trip in a handicap at Chelmsford from a mark of 69 in March, and he shaped well in defeat on his next start. He wasn’t in the same form last time, but this represents a drop in class, and he is taken to make all the running from stall 1. Poetic Force comes out well at the weights and may be the biggest danger.

15:25 – Del Ray

The ones with experience don’t set the bar too high in this fillies maiden, so a chance is taken on likely looking newcomer DEL RAY. She is a half-sister to several winners, including a couple of useful juveniles, so has a precocious enough pedigree, and represents a yard that can get one ready first time up. Gonna Fly Now and Wathbah make appeal on paper and need monitoring in the market.

16:00 – Call Me The Breeze

This is a race which shouldn’t take too much winning, a modest bunch on the whole, but CALL ME THE BREEZE has promised more with the way she’s travelled on both outings this term, and she may be capable of defying her lowly mark after dropping back to six furlongs in a weak race. Dame Darcy and Pannonica look to be the chief dangers.

16:30 – Dorney Lake

DORNEY LAKE looked in good shape beforehand and fared best of the newcomers when finishing fifth in a six-furlong maiden at Goodwood last season. That form worked out well and he showed much improved form on his return at Yarmouth earlier this month, making all of running and comfortably moving clear in the final furlong. That was a borderline useful performance and he’s strongly fancied to follow up under a penalty before having his sights raised further. The Cutest is open to improve as the main danger, and Balmoral Lady makes some appeal on pedigree.

17:00 – So Obsessed

SO OBSESSED is a filly on the up, winning a couple of all-weather handicaps earlier this year, and she took well to turf at the first attempt when runner-up on this course and distance a fortnight ago, travelling fluently and finding only another progressive rival too strong. The booking of Oisin Murphy catches the eye and she is expected to launch another bold bid. Milliethemollie should be a danger having returned to form at Bath recently and Musical Diva isn’t without hope.
