14:15 – Jacquelina

JACQUELINA arrives on the back of an improved effort when scoring over this course and distance a week ago, finding plenty in the closing stages, and she’s capable of following up in a race where most of the others have something to prove. Batchelor Boy is another one to consider and Cabeza de Llave should strip fitter for his latest outing, so a return to form would be no surprise.

14:45 – Premium Pass

The ones with experience don’t set a high standard in this race, so it looks a good opportunity for a newcomer to strike, and it is PREMIUM PASS who makes most appeal on paper. She is a half-sister to several winners, including some smart types, and represents a yard that do well with their juveniles. Breeze-Up recruit Kaleidoscope Eyes is another one to be interested in and Bolly Dolly could feature if the market speaks in her favour.

15:15 – Tequila Rose

TEQUILA ROSE was well-backed on her debut at Catterick last month, and showed plenty to work on, helping force the pace but not having the same gears as the winner in the closing stages. The winner has franked to form by winning again since and she should relish this step up in trip (stamina in her pedigree), so she makes plenty of appeal in what doesn’t appear a deep race. Charlie Johnston’s newcomer Qumasha is an interesting one on paper, while Kimmico could feature if she builds on her debut at the second attempt.

15:45 – Come On John

COME ON JOHN won this race last year and he has largely stayed in form since, notching another win at Wolverhampton in November. He produced a rare below-par effort a fortnight ago, but is now 6 lb lower than when winning this 12 months ago, and is worth chancing to bounce back under conditions which should suit. Bbob Alula and Kojin can also make their presence felt.

16:15 – Fierce

FIERCE is a likeable type who was heavily backed when opening his account in soft ground at Nottingham last summer, showing a willing attitude to fend off a progressive sort. He was again strong in the betting on his return from eight months off over this trip at Windsor 22 days ago, leaving the impression that he’d come on for the run. He has been dropped 2 lb since and goes in first-time blinkers now, so he seems sure to launch a bold bid. Recent course and distance winner Twilight Dancer is an obvious danger and Falcon Nine has some potential starting out for a new yard.

16:45 – Buy The Dip

BUY THE DIP is a regular at this track, belatedly proving himself just as effective on turf when scoring over course and distance in October last year. He arguably proved at least as good as ever when finishing runner-up over seven furlongs here last week, doing all of his best work at the finish. The return to this longer trip will suit him and he is entitled to go very close again from the same mark. Ivasecret and Daisy Roots are feared most.

17:20 – Arnaz

ARNAZ was held back by inexperience on his debut and, while he has shown a little improvement since, he has still been brought along gradually. The form of his latest start at Kempton is working out well, too, with the winner, second and fourth all winning next time out, and he is just the type to progress further now handicapping from what appears to be a fair mark. Dan Dee Prince and Just Rita should also go well.
