16:30 – Beacon Edge

Winter Fog is a very capable sort at his best and has to be given major consideration on his return. However, BEACON EDGE has run two fine races in defeat lately and should have a fitness advantage so just gets the nod.

17:00 Churchroad Prince

As far as reliability goes, Find A Fortune wins this hands down for last year’s winning handler, but the now four-times placed from five starts over hurdles, is a shade vulnerable to a stronger finisher, and there could be one lurking here in the shape of CHURCHROAD PRINCE. Not bad in bumpers the last twice, he was narrowly denied a 3m Punchestown maiden hurdle on his sole start so far over obstacles, and he should relish the return to jumping action here. Marv Michael flopped at Limerick but is capable of much better whilst Mickie Angel and Talk In The Park are others with a shout.

17:30 – Brampton Belle

Western Walk was highly progressive last year and his recent fourth at the Punchestown festival suggests he might not be at the bottom of the tank yet. Along with his fellow top-weight Vina Ardanza are probably the more classy operators here, but slightly further down the handicap, and with the potential for the ground to ease, the concession of the weight to BRAMPTON BELLE could prove to be a bit much. Chasing of late, the latter, a Listed Mares’ winner, remains unexposed at this game and her mark looks quite tasty. Junior Rattler impressed when winning at Tipperary and rates an obvious danger, whilst the return to the winners’ enclosure of Michael Hourigan would certainly be a welcome sight and his representative Winning Smut is also feared along with Toto Too.

18:00 – Mighty Tom

A Grade One winner as a juvenile hurdler and seventh in the County Hurdle, Zenta is now tried in a first-time tongue-tie and will be extremely popular to open her account over fences at the third time of asking. Fair to say she was unspectacular on both starts so far, she has plenty of room for improvement in the jumping stakes but she has time on her side to do so. However, slight preference is for MIGHTY TOM. Already placed at Graded level chasing, he is quite a hardy sort and could well have enough in the locker to account for his younger rival. Hypotenus and Extrapolation should also go well.

18:30 – Tullybeg

Gordon Elliott holds a strong hand and last year’s winner TULLYBEG looks to have been targeted at a repeat, and that planning can come off, though a lot of rain wouldn’t be ideal. That wouldn’t suit his stablemate Salvador Ziggy either but would suit Frontal Assault. Aime Desjy looks a big player too.

19:00 – Whatsafellatodo (NAP)

Jacksons Gold has another nice opportunity here, but not the first time, and his tendency to make a mistake at a crucial point often costs him. One that can be expected to punish any mistakes would be WHATSAFELLATODO (nap). The latter already a C&D winner, should come on plenty from his recent course visit which was on the back of an absence and now sharper, those losses can be recouped. The Echo Boy and Bythesametoken should also take high rank.

19:30 – Seo Linn

Tonaghneave Well ran well enough on debut and represents a yard in fantastic form, so is respected. However, SEO LINN and Kalix Delabarriere are well-bred newcomers from top yards, with preference for the first named, a rare runner in this sphere for Paddy Twomey and she is likely to be well primed.
