13:25 Grande Marques (each way)

The opening race on Sunday is a fillies maiden and Heavens Gate will be a warm order after a good second at Navan, only getting chinned close to home and showing plenty of speed. I’m quite interested in a market check though on GRANDE MARQUES. She’s a daughter of Star-Spangled Banner, trained by Fozzy Stack, ridden by Seamie Heffernan and from a good family. Keep an eye on her in the market as an each-way selection.

14:00 Shelaka

The second is a fillies handicap and the selection is SHELAKA for Dermot Weld and Chris Hayes. She ran well behind a smart horse in Norwalk Havoc at Gowran Park last time out. She was a little disappointing at the back end of last year when running in a good race at the Curragh on decent ground behind Opera Singer, but was heavily eased that day so I think her mark of 85 is very workable and any market support would be appreciated.

14:35 Rouge Millennium

The selection here is favourite ROGUE MILLENNIUM. She cost £1.65m at the sales from the Tom Clover yard and Joseph O’Brien will be delighted with the race he has found for her.

15:10 White Birch

I’m going to take on the favourite Auguste Rodin in the Tattersalls Gold Cup after he was well-beaten in Meydan. We all know what he’s capable of as we saw him winning at the Breeders’ Cup when given a brilliant ride by Ryan Moore in the Breeders’ Cup Turf, but he’s not a straightforward horse. I feel that WHITE BIRCH, who has a recent win under his belt, has a good chance. He’s a hard horse and he wasn’t all that far behind Auguste Rodin in the Derby. With fitness on his side, he could take advantage of it here.

15:45 Purple Lily (each way)

Opera Singer is the obvious one in the Irish 1000 Guineas, with really good form as a two-year-old, but PURPLE LILY represents value in here. That was a really good run behind Ezeliya at Navan last time and the winner there is fancied for the Oaks next week at Epsom. It looks like there’s more to come from this selection. She got outstayed in the race at Navan and dropping back to a mile she’s a bit of value each-way.

16:15 Mundi

It might seem nuts to go for a horse that’s only had one start, at Dundalk, previously, but MUNDI represents powerful connections and the fact he’s pitched in here gives you an idea of what you’re dealing with. Chief Little Rock’s form is pretty strong and if Mundi is the choice of Ryan Moore, who are we to disagree? Keep an eye on the market as there might not be much between these two.

16:50 Lily Hart

This is a tough fillies’ maiden to get stuck into. Ryan Moore rides LILY HART, a daughter of Galileo, who was well-beaten when last seen in Dundalk last September. When you go through the others you’re struggling to see much else of interest. Dermot Weld and Chris Hayes have Sidiza who is worth watching but in a race like this you’re looking for market clues and Aidan O’Brien’s obviously not running Lilly Hart for a day out.

17:25 Bay Of Sanibel

In the last I’m going for BAY OF SANIBEL for Jessica Harrington with Shane Foley riding. This daughter of Sea The Stars is lightly-raced but she’s tough, as she showed winning at Navan over 1m6f. Ground conditions are fine for her and she’s only up 4lbs. She’s the one in this as you need to stay, and she does.
