14:00 – Zaynab (NAP)

A three-year-old fillies’ handicap over 1m where several in the field are unexposed. A key point to ZAYNAB’s chance is that she needs softer ground to show her best. Gordon Elliott’s runner looks to be on a decent mark off a rating of 82. Cheeky Wink drops in grade after finishing fifth in the Guineas Trial at Leopardstown last time.

14:35 – Rogue Millenium

Ocean Jewel hasn’t been seen since last season and this could be a stepping stone to better things. William Haggas has won this race before and saddles Orchid Bloom, but her form doesn’t look strong enough. ROGUE MILLENIUM was bought for big money at the sales and trainer Joseph O’Brien will have her pitch-perfect on her stable debut. She’s the one for me.

15:10 – Auguste Rodin

I’ve tried to figure out who can beat AUGUSTE RODIN – but I can’t see it. He’s a dual Derby winner, Champion Stakes and Breeders Cup winner but he’s also bombed out big time in a 2,000 Guineas, a King George and at Meydan last time. They’ve decided to keep him in training, so there’s a lot at stake. At his best, he wins this and Hans Andersen is in there as a pacemaker. A ‘B+’ performance from Auguste Rodin should be good enough.

15:45 – Opera Singer

The Irish 1,000 Guineas sees OPERA SINGER top the market on seasonal debut for Aidan O’Brien. She looked great on her last two winning starts at this venue and in Longchamp but she arrives here without a run. Only one of Aidan O’Brien’s 10 previous winners of this filly’s classic did so without a run, but I’m not sure what can beat Opera Singer so I’m prepared to overlook that stat.

Fallen Angel may not be as good now as a three-year-old as she was last year, while Vespertilio turns around quickly after a trip to France two weeks ago. Purple Lily and Azada are the two to chase her home.

16:15 – Spoken Truth

The Group 3 Gallinule Stakes sees Ryan Moore opt for Mundi of the three Aidan O’Brien runners. However, SPOKEN TRUTH could be an exciting colt for Dermot Weld, a full brother to Homeless Songs. If anything is going to take a big step forward in this race, it could be him.

17:25 – Bay Of Sanibel (each-way)

Harsh looks to have a big chance in the finale but Cougar has been going well at home and could be one to follow over the next few months at the bigger Festivals having been off the track for 300 days. The same applies to Glan who has an opening mark of 82 and can be one to follow. This race should have extra places and BAY OF SANIBEL (each-way) can give you a good run for your money on the final day of the Guineas Festival.
