13:15 Haydock – Candonomore (NAP)
The more I looked at Candonomore, the more I was impressed. He’s got great form. He finished second at York last year and he won last time out at Haydock. Off a mark of 81, he could be chucked in for Tim Easterby and Duran Fentiman.
13:30 Goodwood – Blue Prince
Al Shabab Storm is the favourite but Blue Prince was an eye-catcher at York last time out when finishing third for David Evans. Tom Marquand is on board and he can show further improvement from that brilliant York run.
13:50 Haydock – Beautiful Diamond
Beautiful Diamond looked like she was going to win at Newmarket last time out but she got a bit unbalanced and ended up finishing third. She won at Ayr last year and although she’s 1lb worse off compared to Vadream, I’ve been impressed with her.
13:55 Curragh – Camille Pissarro
Aidan O’Brien has Camille Pissarro with Ryan Moore on board once again. When Ryan gave him a flick at Navan it looked like he was going to take off. He will have stepped forward from his debut.
14:25 Haydock – Vandeek
Vandeek looks unopposable. He has form on soft ground and he’s gone well on quick ground. There is nothing to dislike about him the only issue is his short price! I won’t be taking him on.
14:30 Curragh – Mitbaahy
Mitbaahy caught my eye at Newmarket last time out so I’m giving him another chance. Going back up to 6f will suit him and hopefully Vadream and Beautiful Diamond will have gone close at Haydock to boost my confidence in him!
14:45 York – Starlust
I was originally siding with Vintage Clarets but I’ve landed on Starlust for Ralph Beckett and Rossa Ryan. He has some Goodwood form from when he was two years old and he’ll handle the good to soft ground.
15:00 Haydock – Sterling Knight
I’m giving a small chance to Sterling Knight for Ed Dunlop. He’s a quirky character but he plugged on well on soft ground at Doncaster in April to finish third. He’s a hold-up horse and he can make a move late on in this small field.
15:05 Curragh – Raise You
Candleford hasn’t had much success since his Duke Of Edinburgh win but William Haggas will have been targeting this race, just like Joseph O’Brien will have done with Raise You. He made a pleasing enough comeback at the Curragh last time out after missing last season. He’s rated 107 and he’s getting 3lbs from Candleford. He can step forward from that last run.
15:20 York – Term Of Endearment
I’m giving Term Of Endearment a chance with Rachael Blackmore and Henry de Bromhead teaming up for a Flat race. Rachael will drop her in and take her time. I like some of her form and while she can be keen, the only place she’s fast is in her head. She’s been crying out for a step up in trip and she gets that by going over 1m6f here.
15:30 Haydock – Yorkindness
Yorkindness was just behind Law Of The Sea (fourth and third respectively) at Chester a couple of weeks ago. He looked a bit keen and started to blow late on. With that run under his belt, he’s worth a punt to take on the top of the market!
15:40 Curragh – Rosallion
I thought Rosallion was going to win in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket until I turned and saw Notable Speech flying up. He ran really well and while Haatem could be the pace angle, I can’t go against Richard Hannon’s runner. He should win.
