14:15 York – It Aint Two
Ruby’s Profit was impressive when winning at Kempton while Running Queen looked professional when winning over the trip at Salisbury. However, It Ain’t Two looks open to more improvement after a Newmarket maiden win – the fourth has won since – and he can follow up now.
14:30 Newbury – Glam De Vega
This race centres on Glam De Vega who returns in a 1m 2f handicap after 640 days as a five-year-old with only five career starts. The Varian stable are in good form so if the market speaks in his favour, I’d be with him. I’ve no real opinion on the others.
14:45 York – Kings Code (each-way)
At a nice price it might be working taking a risk on Kings Code. He’s been winning over shorter trips and stepped up to 9f on his last start when just behind Theoryofeverything (5th) when finishing seventh in a Newmarket handicap. His pedigree suggests that 10f is well within range and with Oisin Murphy booked, he can reward each-way players.
15:15 York – Bright Thunder
There’s plenty of winners in this 1m Listed Fillies Stakes and Bright Thunder looks to be unexposed after a good win at Haydock. The market spoke in her favour that day and there may be more to come.
15:45 York – Giavellotto
Vauban runs since disappointing in the Melbourne Cup and is 1lb well in on rating with Tower Of London. He’s had a good break and is starting back so I’d expect him to come on for the run before he goes to Royal Ascot for a possible crack at the Gold Cup. Tower Of London will be hard to beat but maybe Giavellotto could be the value play if you don’t like backing favourites. He won this contest last year but it’s a pity there’s only 7 runners for the each-way angle as he’ll have to finish in the top two if you go with him.
16:15 York – Under Siege
William Haggas’ Economics could hold the key to this especially as he won the Dante Stakes impressively on Thursday. Under Siege was a length and a half behind him on debut when a 20/1 shot, be he came home really well. If Economics wins the Dante, then that form can be looked at in a different light.
