14:15 York – Spartan Arrow
We only saw SPARTAN ARROW four times last season but on two of those he was straight into the winners enclosure. He looked really good when we last saw him at Goodwood making all on that speed track. York should suit him well and the Crisford team can be relied upon to have him fit for his reappearance.
14:30 Salisbury – Torcello (Each Way)
A flag start under soft conditions could well play to TORCELLO’s strengths as we know he likes to pop along on the front end. He has been super consistent in the high 80s for sometime now and if he’s allowed to dictate his own fractions upfront, he may well get them all at it at a big each- way price.
14:45 York – Al Mubhir (Each Way)
Although his wins have come on heavy ground, AL MUBHIR is equally effective on slightly better conditions. He was given a mountain to climb on his reappearance went flashing home from the back of the pack at Leicester. He has his first spin around this venue and the galloping nature should help him sit slightly handier this time early on.
15:15 York – Free Wind
She’s looking to go back-to-back and last season’s renewal was a very strong division, possibly even better than today’s rivals. Although FREE WIND didn’t manage to win again last season, we know that she has got very strong form fresh. Hopefully she can have a much more productive 2024.
15:45 York – Economics
ECONOMICS took a nice step forward when winning over the mile at Newbury last time and it’s interesting that his Derby winning trainer William Haggas decides to send him here for the Dante Stakes. He’s unsure as to his stamina limitations but he may well prove too good and lower the colours of Ancient Wisdom at the top of the market.
16:15 York – Kylian
Is best held up off a really strong gallop and he should get that in here with Big Evs having to shoulder his Group One penalty. It’s all going to be about whether the favourite has trained on this season. KYLIAN seems to have a bit more size and scope going forward for the season.
