14:15 York – Bergerac (each-way)

ITV Racing is back Thursday with sport from York and Salisbury starting here with a 5f handicap, a tricky start. BERGERAC might have a chance here for Tom Eaves and Kevin Ryan. I can’t believe he’s only six, as he seems to have been around for years, but he’s got every chance off a mark of 91. Bergerac mixes racing over 5f and 6f and go back to 2022 at this track and he landed a 22 runner handicap off 93. The fifth last time at Newcastle was far from being awful and he should have an each-way chance.

14:30 Salisbury – Circuit Breaker (each-way)

ITV show one from Salisbury namely this handicap over 1m6f. Some talented horses in here. CIRCUIT BREAKER is an each-way hope as he might have more to give for the O’Neill team and Cieren Fallon. He ran well on debut for the stable when third in the Queen’s Prize at Kempton behind Duty of Care and should come on bundles for that run.

14:45 York – Cruyff Turn (each-way)

Another handicap but this time over 1m. It’s been a long time since CRUYFF TURN has shown his best but boy he’s a well handicapped horses now for Tim Easterby. Duran Fentiman takes the mount on a horse rated 88 who looked good here in 2022 off 97 when landing this event. There hasn’t been much hope recently since a win at Redcar in June of last year but that was off 91 so it just goes to show he’s chucked in if producing his best. I’ll chance a few quid each-way.

15:15 York – Free Wind

Up in class now for the Group 2 Middleton Fillies’ Stakes over an extended 1m2f. FREE WIND and Bluestocking should dominate here and I’m happy to side with the John and Thady Gosden mare ridden by Kieran Shoemark. The six-time winner has gone well at this track in the past and landed this race in battling fashion last year. That was on seasonal debut so hopefully she can score again.

15:45 York – Gods Window

The Derby trial in the Group 2 Dante over an extended 1m2f. This is exciting as Economics looks very good and, of course, Ancient Wisdom was a class juvenile. I’m sticking with GODS WINDOW even though he only raced last week at Chester. He did nothing there having almost refused to race but despite being last of four he kept on really well and his Doncaster form as a juvenile was decent. He’s got the ability to surprise for me for John and Thady Gosden and Kieran Shoemark.

16:15 York – Big Evs

Here’s a Listed race over 6f. It’s such a shame there are not eight in this for each-way betting and so I’m sticking with BIG EVS who could easily outclass this lot as a Breeders’ Cup hero. The Mick Appleby runner has to give weight away but with a mark of 113 he’s by miles the most talented. The two worries if taking a short price are namely has he trained well and also that on his only visit to this track, he was beaten by miles by Nunthorpe. This, however, is much easier than that test.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
