15:07 – Cross The Tracks

Oisin Murphy’s strike rate on favourites currently sits at 34% and his mount CROSS THE TRACKS was an excellent second in a class 2 over C&D 6 weeks ago and can resume winning ways back down in class. In-form Wren Officer, who will appreciate a strongly-run race, is next best ahead of the progressive Buzz Box, though any market support for Bulmer Bank (first-time hood), Infinity Blue (first start for a new yard) or Mr Wonderful (handicap debut for new yard) should be noted.

15:42 – Jungle Land

JUNGLE LAND couldn’t justify the favouritism at Ayr on his debut but he still showed plenty to finish a clear second and is fancied to go one better here. Trained by Karl Burke, who always does well with juveniles, Jungle Land is a half-brother to three winners, including the smart 6f/7f winner Fresh and 5.7f/6f winner Temple Bruer, and is out of Kendal Mint who was a two-year-old 6f winner. He can follow in their footsteps. Naepoint caught the eye in third at Wolverhampton in October and is a potential threat along with well-bred newcomer Storm Star.

16:17 – My Little Queens

Though this places less emphasis on stamina, MY LITTLE QUEENS travelled well when she capitalised on her reduced mark – and justified good support in the process – when landing a Hamilton handicap seven days ago and she could be worth siding with to follow up under a penalty. Sea Legend is an interesting runner on yard/handicap debut, fitted with a hood following an absence, with the unexposed Abbey Gardens and the consistent Jean Baptiste are others worth a look.

16:52 – Natzor

NATZOR came from further back than other horses involved in the finish, when he cemented the positive start for David O’Meara,  finishing second at Hamilton seven days ago and he is worth another crack at this longer trip. He shades the vote to come out on top. Ludo’s Landing and Jack Sparowe are others to consider, though each is likely to be ridden very differently, while the thriving Prince Achille is also considered. Yeoman, who was a good fourth on reappearance, is also respected after swerving a turf engagement at Lingfield on Saturday.

17:27 – Monsieur Melee

The unexposed MONSIEUR MELEE showed plenty to be positive about at Sandown last time, having been slowly away before waiting to challenge, and Jedd O’Keeffe’s gelding is fancied to get off the mark at the chief expense of the hat-trick seeking Rocket Warrior. Mafnood ran well in defeat last time, running on late in the day, and can complete the placings at the expense of handicap newcomer Cloudy Skye.

18:00 – Aerospace

Archie Watson has a 22% strike rate at Newcastle since the start of the 2020 season and AEROSPACE found marked improvement to double his tally for this stable here last time. There’s more progress in him, so he gets the nod in the hat-trick bid. La Pulga got on well with Archie Young when winning over C&D last time and is a big danger if able to dictate, while stablemate Artisan Dancer should be on the premises. Fairbanks represents a yard in good form and should appreciate a return to this better surface, so is also considered.

18:30 – Eldrickjones

Two-time course winner ELDRICKJONES made a pleasing seasonal return when runner-up at Southwell last month and is fancied to go better here. Zip also has a good course record and arrives after a sound effort last time, so merits consideration alongside Longlai, who was unlucky not to win at Chelmsford last time. Noble Order’s flop at Newbury can be forgiven and this lightly-raced sort is another to consider.

19:00 – It Just Takes Time

Timeform ‘Horse In Focus’ IT JUST TAKES TIME won twice off higher marks last year and made an encouraging return when a smooth-travelling second at Doncaster 15 days ago, so he gets the marginal vote to go one better in a wide-open race. The well-treated King’s Lynn is a player having returned to form last time and Bosh can’t be ignored in his current mood (placed twice and won two of last five starts). Julie Camacho knows the time of day with sprinters so watch out for market moves for First Folio on his first start for the yard.
